I live in small country, Portugal. 10 million country. In Germany, France or Spain there are plenty of repair shops, I think. Not so many in Portugal. Buying another second hand camera, is a big risk.

The drawback. The DSLR line can be discontinued. It did happen with Canon point and shoot, with Canon eos-m. Very sad. Cameras that are discontinued still work fine so that point isn't relevant.

My perspective. Go for a camera. I am very annoyed with  smart phone creators. They destroyed the beautiful cameras out there. Now why you should buy a camera. Every 4 years you will need a new phone.
