  • This is normal for the Olympus batteries for the E-M1MkII. See page 13 of the manual. There is a scale on the charger which shows what the level  charging is at while flashing.
  • Are your lens working okay and what brought this to you attention? Does the camera actually request this? Have you used a non-m43 lens on the camera recently and used the Lens Info Settings? On the ...
  • when there is nothing much else to capture. Had some fun down at the Gippsland Lakes. A tight landing Scavenging some leftovers Having a bath Hanging out to dry Portrait Cruising past Dennis
  • shows a beautiful shot of the monkeys and a worthy winner IMO. http://www.nhm.ac.uk/visit/wpy/gallery/2018/images/wildlife-photographer-of-the-year/5389/the-golden-couple.html
  • Sure looks mean. Getting close sure helps with the detail. Not sure Raw would get you any better outcome unless the exposure was off. Taken at a zoo or bird sanctuary?  I don't visit them often but ...
  • Great set of captures and use of the 40-150mm. The blue of that second macaw is stunning as is the details. Those Crowned Cranes are shots are excellent. Love the close up and the one legged shots. ...

Great set of captures, must be fun to have a bird of prey in the backyard. I find some raptors very difficult to distinguish particularly when they are juveniles. Dennis
  • Good captures Dicky, I have not seen the pale headed rosella. Those bloody noisy miners, one bird I would like to shoot with something other than a camera. Dennis
  • Two very nice captures, both birds posed well. Kookaburras can be great subjects as they generally sit for sometime.
  • Terrific series as usual Vass, all excellent shots but I especially like #4, 5,6. Dennis
  • Maybe a slight application of NR on the bird may help. If you are going to print it  then it will probably be fine. You really have to be careful applying sharpening to images taken with the 300mm ...
  • That's a lot better Mark. I would even crop a little bit more from the left side, just a touch. BTW what do you process you images with? I might be nitpicking but the bird's feather detail looks a ...
  • Here is the answer to your question you asked once before. https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/60464483
  • My E-M1MkII works exactly the same way and I am still on firmware 2.0. But I don't use my setup the same way so I don't know if this has changed or not. However after trying various options  I ...
  • Okay I think you will find if you have the MF assigned to the Lever you cannot assign it to another button function. It will not be available to select via a button. So use via lever or a function ...
  • Do you mean MF using the lever? If so just do the same procedure but change to MF in one of the lever positions. You should still be able to assign MF to any function buttons.
  • Hi Mark It's a great capture regarding pose, perch, grasshopper in beak, light and background. But I do agree with above comment. If you have room above the bird I would try a portrait crop.Or try ...
  • What you need to do is set your AF/Target (say S-AF /Single target) setting with lever in position 1. Then switch lever to position 2 and change AF/Target setting using SCP to an alternative ...
