Still can't get the "S80PB" version w/o thunderbolt in the USA... Is this real 10bit color or FRC?
-
Also, they want so pretty exact exposures for middle grey, but since the metering modes in video seem limited to ESP, I'm not sure how to set that even with a gray card. The Zebras only go down to ...

These "OM-Log400" LUTs claim to convert to "WDR BT.709" unlike the "Flat" LUT that converts to "SDR BT.709", ie "OMSYSTEM_OM-Log400_BT.2020_to_WDR_BT.709_v1.0.cube" I can't find any such color ...

I've seen some pretty sharp pics from the RF f/11 primes, but they are not weather or dust sealed:(
-
G9 AF was bad. But the PL100-400 works great with the OM1 which has very good bird AF. I find that DxO DeepPrime makes ISO3200 entirely usable, 6400 OK in a pinch.
-
Any FF body with good bird detect and track AF is very expensive, 2x or more the price of the OM1.
-
Yeah thats weird. I own both, and I shoot wildlife with just the OM1 now. I also have both the PL and Oly 100-400, but I use just the PL, I find the Oly 100-400 really soft. Too soft to bother with...

Pretty shameful of the rep, even if it has some truth. We're paying them to transport our bags intact and to the correct destination. They almost always do. If they said "never put anything you...

Airtags and the ilk are marketed to *not* be used for tracking stolen items, just lost items. Thats why the new ones are supposed to audibly beep when away from your phone a certain length of time....

There was a thread on this for the G9 (tripod HR but still), the moon moves too much in a second or two. On a lunar tracking mount the G9 HR worked much better. https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thre ...

I feel more at home in the OM1 menus after a week than I did with the G9 after a year... Tim

OK in re-reading the Wikipedia article I realize it didn't say what I though it did on a quick skim. Apparently even in the display industry they often refer to the single color elements as pixel....

When shooting birds with C-AF and subject detect (no tracking) the focus point can often be well off the bird, even with sitting birds. But usually its too short of a miss and the focus doesn't shift.
-
No, I shoot JPEG on one card and RAW on the other, and usually only load the RAW into the computer, and I see the focus point displayed on most of my photos. I think it doesn't appear then the ...
-
Typically the single color filtered photosites are referred to as "sub-pixels", with the "pixel" made up of the different colors necessary to from a full color image (R, G and B in this...

It's one of those things you miss when it's gone:) It's certainly not critical (nailing BIF focus is) but I see why the Canons kept it. Want to check if your cards are inserted and battery ...

The monitor button only seems to switch live-view on the LCD, though a long-press will bring up the option to turn off the EVF Auto-switch. The thumb trick may be the easiest work-around. As far as ...
-
The camera is not in sleep mode (I have that set to 5 min), just the EVF is autoswitched off based on the eye sensor. Coming from the G9 which doesn't do that I was surprised. I certainly don't ...

Old thread, but it the 2.0.1 OM Workspace you can view the focus point. There is a little "AF |=|" button down on the bottom left of the frame that can be toggled, or I think Alt-V also works. Tim

Took me all of 10min to adjust to the menus coming from my G9. Pretty straightforward really. Yes there are a lot of options, but I don't want to take away features just to get smaller menus.
