  • Thanks all. They are Leica batteries. Will try with 64GB cards and hopefully the problem won’t subsist.
  • Created question thread M240 freezing issues…
So had my m240 for a year or so, worked fine. I am using a 128GB SD card. Since I updated my firmware to the latest, the camera is freezing a ridiculous amount. This usually happens when I turn ...
  • Thanks!
  • Thank you!
  • Thanks! Such a lovely city for photography.
  • Created photo thread Prague - July 2022
Went to Prague for the fifth time to visit a friend who lives there. Took my Leica M240 and Voigtlander 35mm 1.4 II. Shop quite a few rolls of Ilford XP2 too but obviously those aren’t on Leica so ...
  • Replied in New York City
I had similar concerns before I picked up the M240, but to be honest I don’t shoot enough at night for it to be a massive issue. And when I do, I make sure I have fast enough lenses!
  • Replied in New York City
I think the combination of the areas being well lit and shooting at 1.4 meant that I was able to keep the ISO below about 800. I previously had the Zeiss 35 2.8, which is fantastic but ...
  • Created photo thread New York City
Went for a trip to NYC, which just seems to be a city built for a 35mm lens on a Leica! I could share 10s of photos (see my Instagram for more shots) but thought I’d just share some of my ...
  • Replied in Madrid
I think when I export from Lightroom the default settings are not to include EXIF. I need to change this.
  • Created photo thread Madrid
Went for a long weekend in Madrid over the Queen’s platinum jubilee. Really enjoyable trip. Mostly used the Voigtlander 35mm f1.4 II but also the Voigtlander 50mm 1.5. I principally shot using ...
  • Replied in New 35mm lens
Very much out of my budget! And looks quite large…
  • Replied in New 35mm lens
Thanks! I think I agree with you, sometimes I’ll just need to shoot at f/1.4 (especially with the M240…). Very much still up on the air as to whether I go for the clinical ultron or less clinical ...
  • Created discussion thread New 35mm lens
So I have the Biogon 35mm f/2.8 which is great and my most used lens. However, with the M240’s shortcomings in the high ISO department, I would ideally like to replace/supplement the Zeiss with ...
  • The worst interaction I’ve had re using a Leica was last week. I was walking down the street with my M240 round my neck and some guy points at me and says ‘Leica user?’ And then notes ‘ah, I have ...
  • When I bought my M240, I also had an XPro2 with Xf35mm f1.4, 56mm 1.2, a few manual 3rd Party lenses and an X100V. Once my X100V sells in around a week’s time on eBay, I will only have the M240. I ...
  • Thanks, I agree. I think having overly saturated colours and too much contrast would be unfaithful to the actual conditions.
  • Thanks. I really hate overly saturated images, hence the muted colour. Noted re exposure though, my m240 seems to underexpose quite a lot!
  • To be honest (and not being rude) not particularly, as I don’t shoot portraits all that much anymore. Is there somewhere I can see some of your work Deed?
  • Replied in An odd forum
Thanks Deed - no idea why lack of input from this usually vibrant forum! Perhaps not interesting enough... Yes, I generally agree with your thoughts around focal lengths, but in this case I only ...
