About me:

Smartphone a daily driver. They are so very much smarter than the typical camera--in more ways than one (and the list grows with each passing day).

I do occasionally revert to using a dumb camera, if only to remind myself just how far smartphone photography has advanced by comparison.

All those onion rings are making me hungry.

What's this?

Resentful little Liliputian men picking on a Silicon Valley giant with a fortune bigger than many of their countries' GDPs?

Sad!

Radek Matyas: RIP reach-starved RX100.

Tiny, noisy m4/3 is next on the chopping block!

@S Yu: I've been using CameraPixels to take blisteringly fast +/-3EV RAW exposure brackets with my iPhone for more than a year.

Why don't you invest a little time learning how to use your smartphone?

Let's pause for a moment and consider just how pathetic the cameras that need this are to require a matchbox-sized add-on just to do basic data transfers in 2019.

Radek Matyas: Can't wait for the RAW shots to see how MASSIVE that flare, vignetting, and barrel/pincushion distortion is.

Nikon said "no RAWS!"

They're hiding something, believe me!

Radek Matyas: So, were it not for the 35S, with its demonstrably horrible bokeh (sure...sure, blame it on a pre-prod version, LOL) and with which no lens deserves to be confused, except maybe the very similar 50S ,the 50S would unreservedly be the worst lens of the year.

Whew, thanks for clearing that up!

If anyone's confused, here's where things stand: the 35S and 50S are among the worst lenses of the year.

No worries. To err is human, after all. Thanks for your clarification!

The gentleman that I am, I'd very much like to take you at your word, but do you expect us to take your declaration entirely on faith?

It would do you well to supply A-B comparisons between the pre-production 35S, which he rightly panned for its horrible bokeh (in his estimation) and the allegedly improved production versions. How much of an improvement could there really be? Enough to elevate the 35S from last place into....exactly where along the continuum?

I'll bet the farm that pilots were behind this stunt. They do have the most to gain, don't they?

Stockholm syndrome...

No card slot would make it even smaller, LOL.

And their poorly documented AF system keeps their manual smaller also.
