I recently added the R5 to my lineup (alongside R6mk2) and debated replacing the mk2 with the R3. I am predominantly a sports shooter but also do events and birds etc. Personal preference is to ...

I cant stand the R7 control structure and will always take 3 adjustment wheels over 2

Thanks - especially for the insights on the big whites (I'll keep a 1dx/ii too) I ended up ordering a damaged box R5 (will work out to ~$2500USD) - the extra resolution will be useful for a few ...

Yeah I'm using older glass so AF won't be as fast, maybe the r3 won't provide as much improvement given lens will be limiting factor

Yeah but I'm not unhappy with the rolling shutter on the r6mk2.... I guess it depends how bad the r5's is in comparison. At higher iso if it was that bad I'd just use the r6mk2

Thanks, what generation of 600mm? And yeah r5 MK2 will be out at some point and be clearly more expensive than what I can get an r5 for now I'd also have to factor in cost of a grip for the r5, ...

@kokopelli_rocks Its hard to quantify if some things will be an issue for your specific usage only one to be ruled out immediately was the lack of vertical grip - and if everything else was...

i bought one and its now up for sale, so suffice to say i was disappointed in comparison to my R6 Main downsides - rolling shutter in electronic mode - blackout/shutter shock in mechanical mode -...
