  • Replied in Mainly Dahlias
Thanks Andrew, My Dad grew lots of dahlias when I was growing up and I never used to like them much at all. Now many years later I've come to appreciate them more, especially as they carry on ...
  • Thanks Rich. I've been through a bit of a stale phase with my photography this year so I'm using this wonderful forum as an excuse to inspire me to get out and about so that I can show you good ...
  • I love Rhubarb but I'm not sure I would be able to taste the difference between varieties by the time the necessary sugar and a pie crust has been added. 3800 acres is a lot to look after, although ...
  • Replied in Mainly Dahlias
The Dahlias are still doing wonderfully well in the walled garden at Clumber Park. The warm autumn weather really suits them and the butterflies and bees love the open petaled varieties. I've also ...
  • Nice pictures of a lovely car. Looks in great condition too. I can only echo Dave's words in that it's a long while since I've seen one over here in the UK.
  • Lovely light on all of the landscape images Joe and I particularly like the last where the track leads into the blue sky.
  • Crikey Rich! There's some cracking pictures there to go with the spooky tales. The last two are incredibly powerful images, I absolutely love them. The mist makes for loads of atmosphere.
  • Replied in Odds and Sods
Lovely set Dave. The light and shade on the last of the landscapes is beautiful. It makes those hills look very inviting and the small cairn on the left makes a good lead in to the view. It's that ...
  • I continue to enjoy the trip through the mountains with you WN. A great set of which 3 is my favourite. I like the way the valley leads your eye into the high peaks in the distance.
  • Replied in Waterlilies
Beautiful Andrew. I particularly like no. 2 for the deep pink colour of the water lilies against the blue reflections in the water. I also really like no. 5 too.
  • I'm fortunate enough to live about 30 minutes drive from Clumber Park in Nottinghamshire. The estate, now looked after by the National Trust was formerly home to the Dukes of Newcastle and covers ...
  • I'm bit late to the party this week Craig. I like the second version best as the lake adds scale to the background and shows what a huge landscape it is out there. I don't mind the pack myself.
  • Replied in Leftovers
A bit late in seeing these Rich, I'm afraid but well worth the wait. The skies are wonderful and I really like 5 and 6.
  • Replied in Autumn Iris
Both lovely shots WN and I think the background with the Asters works well. I do think the Iris looks better in the second picture though.
  • And also a rose. This lovely orange rose did well to withstand the strong winds and very heavy rain last week.
  • Replied in A visitor
Great detail on the Hoverfly, it stands out well against the colour of the flower.
  • Replied in Garden Flowers
The pink rose and the aster are lovely WN. Picture three though is beautiful. Composition, depth of focus and lighting on both foreground and background are spot on.
  • I'm glad you've survived the battering of the wind and rain Dave. It looked pretty wild on the news. I love the mountain reflections in the water but I do have a weakness for pictures of lone trees ...
  • Lovely close-up shot Dicky and great to come across one unexpectedly.
  • Replied in XK 120
Both great cars Rich and I'd love to have a drive in the Jag. I'm not as keen on the colour as you are (I guess it take all sorts) and I would like to see on in British Racing Green. I love the ...
