Thanks Roy. It is a lovely object.

Thanks Dave. Apparently Leicestershire averages 1401 hours of sun a year!

Thanks Andrew. I've not had the 35mm f1.4 very long and I'm enjoying using it. I can't find out much more information about the sundial and I reckon the date might just be a good guess. The metal ...

Thanks Rich. It's certainly seen a few different faces looking at it over the years.
  • Replied in Sundial
Thanks Joe. I suspect it's only good about half of the year.
  • Replied in Sundial
Thanks Craig. Sadly I don't know much more about it but it is a lovely thing.
  • I've always loved that generation of Fords and they are beautifully photographed and processed Andrew.

This sundial in a Leicestershire churchyard is thought to date to the fifteenth century. I've visited twice and unfortunately the sun didn't show itself on either occasion!
  • Lovely set of flower images Rich. Hard to pick a favourite though I do love the Californian poppies.

    Thanks Chris.

  • Replied in Thoresby Hall
It's one of several rather grand houses and areas of  parkland, all within an area known as the Dukeries. I wouldn't fancy paying the heating bill though.
  • Replied in Thoresby Hall
Thanks Andrew. I need to get out with the camera more often.
  • Replied in Thoresby Hall
Thanks Rich. I did go in there once, many years ago and can remember playing snooker in a rather magnificent room.  I prefer to walk around the park though, there's pike and trout in the river and ...
