Someone over in the Z8 bird autofocus thread was wondering which of the options below most people would prefer. Please have your say! ;)

Certainly possible - but probably quite rare.

Yes, I understand. For near-to-far types of scenes when sharp foregrounds are important, it is usually beneficial to focus somewhere close to half-way into the scene to maximise DoF. However, it ...

Considering that you get the same results no matter which side of the camera is facing "up", I doubt that you have a decentered or tilted lens. Maybe field curvature? What happens if you focus a ...

So everyone's got to pay 30% more for the Z8 so you can have bird mode on what is pretty much a perfect camera already? Sounds reasonable.
-
The 24-120 is internally focusing but externally zooming. It also gets longer.

How about adding the Tamr... err, Nikon 70-180/2.8? Not too large, or too heavy, or too expensive, and should be good for people, while your 24-70 that you already have keeps doing what it already ...
-
The 24-120 has more reach (useful), the 24-70 is smaller and lighter (useful), and in your case a lot cheaper (you already have it). Which one of these is more important depends entirely on your ...

If you buy new, these issues should be a thing of the past. I am not aware of other problems that require testing.

I think that's the only one. ;)

Yes. Yes. None. Works fine. ;)

You cannot compare all Imatest tests - only those acquired under identical (or close-enough) conditions. In case of PhotographyLife, you can generally compare those that were taken in the same ...
-
I think you can compare those that have the same graph style, i.e. all the latest ones with the blue/red/green bars can be compared within that group, but not to the older ones with the ...

I agree with these suggestions. In my experience, brick walls are not ideal for this.

If you can live with the size of the FTZ adapter PLUS a lens on it, you might as well get a 24/1.8 Z and be done with it.
-
I think the idea was to say "Expeed7, not Expeed6", which excludes most of Nikon's older line-up. Not "Expeed7 and nothing else from any manufacturer".
-
Yes, probably, but it's not a global shutter.
-
No. The Z8 clunks loudly even when just going to sleep, not just when turning it off. It's the IBIS system going to park position.

I felt the same with my 400/4.5 and TC. I am not sure why and how that happens, but everything works fine over here.
