Here's the RRS foot for comparison. I believe it also fits the Z 400mm 2.8. The Nikon foot is not Arca Swiss compatible.

Thanks Glenn. I'll be sure to check it out.

Hi Glenn, Good to see that you are still shooting stuff that flies in the airshow off-season. Some great shots. I'm less than 20 miles from the reserve but never been there, so you've inspired me ...

I always use RRS equipment. The foot for the 100-400mm Z shows as in stock at B&H now. Although I have this foot fitted my lens I've always been able to handhold it (on a Z9).

Hi Ellis, Thanks for your kind words.

2022 was a year of change. I sold my D4, D4S, D5, 500PF, and 70-200 f2.8E and bought two Z9’s, 800PF, 400 f4.5, 100-400, 24-120 f4 and 70-200 f2.8Z. Here’s 10 of my favorites with the Z system.

Thanks for the tip about PhotoMechanic. I'm looking at it at as better workflow than using Lightroom just to sort the RAW images.

The subject of NX Studio versus other RAW processors comes up regularly, but here’s some information that may be of interest, although probably not new. I attended a Z9 online Nikon event yesterday ...

I bought a second Z9 and sold my D4, D4S and D5. I still have a D6 and some long F lenses but haven't used these since I got the first Z9. I prefer to have 2 identical bodies with the same settings.

I completely agree with you, but some of the newer members of this forum perhaps don't remember the history and blame Nikon for not reacting instantly to the demand and delivering more lenses. I ...

FYI, at a recent NPS online event, a senior manager from NPS shared that there is a 9 month annealing process associated with one of the elements of the 800mm f6.3 lens and that this cannot be ...

I use a Think Tank Digital Holster 40 V2.0 to carry just a Z9 fitted with the 24-120mm f4. Fits perfectly so should work fine for a smaller Z body.

Excellent. I've found that the 800 makes a great wildlife 'portrait' lens.

Hi Joel These are from San Diego zoo. No problem getting good shots there. San Diego wildlife park and LA zoo also offer similar opportunities. I know they are on the wrong coast for you but I'd ...
