Do you need the extra 100mm on the tele side? Because if not I suggest the following combination: Sony A6400 + Tamron 17-70 f2.8 will give a full-frame equivalent of 26-105 F4.0 Total weight 403g + ...

@ Chaitanya S I bought the Laowa 100mm for the same reason. Focus shift in a $1,399 "premium" lens is totally unacceptable.

@themountainphotographer My Canon R6 + 50MM F1.8 is about the same size and weight as OM-1 + 25mm f1.8.
-
I do see an improvement at the 12,800 - 25,600 ISO range, but it doesn't come close to the Canon R6. I'll say that there is an 0.25 - 0.5 stop improvement at best.

Yes, if you keep a fast glass on it you lose nothing over full-frame, but you also gain nothing by going with MFT in the first place. So what is the point? Just buy a full-frame camera and get a...

@JakeJY They had to find a way to justify all the "WOW" camera hype.

I enjoyed Olympus gear, but weak high ISO performance and awful AF pushed me to Canon. When OM unveiled the OM-1 and advertised 2-stops ISO improvement I got excited and thought about switching ...

I was thinking about switching back from Canon R6 to MFT because of the 2 stops ISO/ 1- stop dynamic range improvement promise, but my gut feeling was telling me to wait for independent reviews. ...

@kodacolor200 If you have a decent technical understanding of photography you can recreate 95% of the software gimmicks offered by Olympus using lightroom. The ethos of MTF used to be small,...

@Foskito The wow is that you get a LOT of top-tier hardware for $2,200.

Agree. I own the 35mm and this lens has a soul. I enjoy it a lot.

@landscaper1 4K is overkill on a 17-inch monitor. The sweet spot for 4K is a 32-inch screen. Try connecting your laptop to an external monitor.

@ BrentSchumer "that's how the products are compared by buyers on the market... Only by amateurs and armchair photographers. (And clickbait YouTubers)

I use Canon RF 50mm and 85mm prime lenses. The build quality of those is laughable compared even to non-Pro Olympus lenses. * External focus * Slow AF * Noisey AF * No weather sealing whatsoever...

Because people don't understand how things work in practice and completely misuse the "equivalence" argument. If fast glass = quality glass we were all buying Chinese-made f1.0 lenses on...

Oh, I forgot to mention "Pro capture" in my list. This feature allowed me to capture amazing wildlife photos.

You see gimmicks. I see computational photography. Computational photography is the future, not bigger sensors. The problem is that only Olympus seemed to understand this. Look at what...

Only after I used Canon R6 did I understand how far ahead Olympus compared to everyone else. Live view high-resolution shot mode hand-held high-resolution mode, Live ND, light painting focus...
