I'm more concerned about the dynamic range on this rather than the pixel quantity.

Coyote_Cody: Funny I posted about this yesterday in Canon M forum w/ zero responses? Not many inquiring minds??

A 'clever' solution to the thickness issue, not useful for larger sensors though, unless space is the big issue.

Likely easier to do very fast multiple exposures and then blend them via h/w algorithms (like HDR but for 'normal' stills) for both jpg or raw.

Hope the engineers who came up with this got big bucks in apple buyout !! Good work, big daddy buys, big bucks!!

Now Samsung must solve the same problem - no issue for them of course, they certainly have ALL the necessary skills, apple likely did not, buying is easier!!

load of nonsense.

keeponkeepingon: I think the title, "a class of it owns" just goes to show how dorked up the DPREVIEW sensor size based camera classification system is.

With the kit lens this is almost a $3000 camera. It should be compared to other $3000 cameras regardless of sensor size.

Also I don't see how any camera that has problems focusing in low light could be given a gold?

If I want a quick sunny day camera, I'll use my iPhone thank you very much.

rather use an Iphone. what a stupid remark to make.

you are right Clint. I did not buy A6000. instead I bought XT1 last spring. reason is existing native NEX lenses were disappointing.

@captura, I very much learned how to adapt to using rear lcd screen for composition. and I love that touchscreen feature which made life much easier now and is now a must have for camera. now, if only EVF can also have touchscreen.

RedDog Steve: I don't think the Canon "M" line was even taken seriously by DPR.
A listing for the M2 is nowhere to be found.
The fact that the M3 won't be marketed to the US only reinforces the impression of lack-o-commitmentitis.

that's because M2 was never released in U.S. also.

Mike FL: When will Samsung release a6000 alike camera?

Build in Flash in NX700, and Build in Flash +EVF in NX900?

See u next year.

Goodness I hope it not to be a6000. You can keep a6000 all you want. But leave nx500 out of it. Evf is only thing that a6000 have over nx500. Evf aside, nx500 spanks a6000 on everything .

A6000 is joke compared to what nx500 has to offer.

mpgxsvcd: I wish all of the camera manufactures realized what Canon has already figured out. Canon knows that if you get the word out there that your cameras are the “best” then it will take a long time for the general public to figure it out if that no longer is true.

Basically Canon is still riding high on their PR campaign from more than a decade ago. They still sell some cameras simply because most people don’t even realize that Samsung, Olympus, and Panasonic even make cameras.

I hate to say it but the other camera companies better start investing more into Advertising and getting their entire line of cameras in stores like Best Buy. It doesn’t matter how good your product is. Not enough people will buy it if they don’t even know it exists.

arbuz, I find my Sigma's AF more than enough on my 6D and 7D. of course, Canon glass have better AF speed due to better compatibility with their cameras. but I not have problem with Sigma's AF speed and accuracy.

I like Nikon one but it is for different purpose. although I must say that this NX500 is a game-changer.

Peiasdf: Samsung still don't have SONY's packaging skill. For equal size and price, SONY fit in an EVF into the a6000. The only thing NX500 has over a6000 is 4K shooting. The BSI sensor turns out to be a wash against the SONY 24mp.

what an ill-educated statement. you have been smoking a lot of Sony POT that it clouded your sanity.

I lost my fascination with L glasses eversince Sigma start making some amazing yet affordable pro glasses. between an L lens and Sigma lens, I'd go for a Sigma.

also, if there are lenses worth keeping, those would be Leica M's.
