The guys at Lensrental were nice and replied.  They suggested that should be unscrewed which is what I did.

I was able to unscrew it with the "rubber screw".  However, before unscrewing, I had to place some WD40 on the ring because it was just too tight. Many thanks for the advice.

Many thanks for the suggestion. I have watch many YouTube videos hoping to get an idea.  Unfortunately, no luck. Don't see any holes for the spanner.  And the "ring" is very tight so much so that ...

My Leica DG Nocticron 42.5 has fungus on the front element. Would someone know now to remove the front element? I can’t find any screw holes or anything that would allow me to removed the “frame” ...
