Data rates/compression, bit depth, and consistent timing of the frames more or less. 120 fps video would be 10 bit mostly, maybe a couple of token cameras can do 12-bit raw at 120 fps. Only your...

It says it’s not till 1/10000 that you might have issues with flash timing and even then there’s a manual flash trigger adjustment. Frankly, syncing flash on a rolling shutter sensor is a marvel of...

Can we confirm that the global shutter is used in movie recording too? While it doesn’t say otherwise I think that’s an important point to confirm. Also, if say shooting 20fps, is the...

Watching the Sony video there’s actually a flash timing adjustment feature so you can adjust the flash timing manually till it syncs up

Well flash isn’t actually instantaneous either. You might have a case at these super short shutter speeds where the sensor reads out faster than the flash duration so it doesn’t have to be perfect.
-
Correction: The fine print in the Sony release says max shutter speed is 1/16000 for apertures larger than f1.8 which actually isn’t even as fast as the A1 which can do 1/32000 at any aperture if...

Shooting wide open with an f/1.2 lens would do it. Combine that with pre-shooting or flash also opens up some creative possibilities without the need for ND filter. I’d definitely rather have the...

I’m not seeing where a Sony Zv-1F can shoot 960fps? I see that the Sony DSC-RX100 VII shoots that fast and you could find a used one for under $1000. 960fps is pretty fast. It will of course ...

My guess is it’s a 135 1.8 but it covers a much larger than full frame image circle and therefore has none of the side effects of large aperture lens like corner sharpness roll off, vignetting, and...

I see a lot of comments about what “Plena” means. Plena in Latin means “full” as in “a space full of matter” and Nikon actually defines it in the video and title as “full, overflowing in the image...

Talking about the entrance pupil (aperture) not the overall size of the lens. The wider the lens the smaller the potential aperture opening can be. Also the internal reflections on the lens...

Plena means full, as in a space filled with matter, in Latin so you are on the right track but it’s more than plenty. The video also gives both wide angle vibes. However the entrance pupil on the...

I just a Sony Tough Card fail this year within a year of purchase in perfect condition. Sent it in to Sony and they were unable to recover the photos. This only has to happen to you once in a...

People also got around via horse and buggy for hundreds of years but I sure wouldn’t want to go back to that either.

Yea but you can deduct the depreciation on your equipment which makes even charging just one dollar worth it. The taxes are also very easy btw. You know there’s a saying that the less you charge ...

Well there’s already the excellent 12-24 f2.8 GM and 14 1.8 GM which are all top of the line and recent additions. I think we are pretty stacked at wide angle but I of course always welcome...

Just a couple last points. The A7RV may actually have better all around subject tracking but where the A1 still excels is fast moving subjects. It may have more AF calculations per second is what ...
-
Ok well as far as bat on ball that’s where only the A1 will do the trick (of the 3 options you are considering.) The A7RV should have a faster buffer recovery than the A7RIV since it uses CFe ...
