ArthurMeursault: Ever since that video of a drunk David Hasselblad came out, I've boycotted both their cameras and Baywatch reruns.

Victor was his name, Victor Hasselblad. hence it was V-system of 6x6 Hasselblad cameras in film era

Peter Bendheim: If the score is over 100 then surely the scoring system is wrong or am I missing something. What does 100 represent as a benchmark if you can score over it?

100 means 100% of an ‘ideal’ camera, which you still can get, while 102 means that you can only dream about it because it is beyond your reach

HowaboutRAW: And just want them both to auto focus correctly and consistently.

@HowaboutRAW - Do you mean that H6D focuses inconsistently? I used several H*D bodies, still use H3D and never ever had any issue. I am looking forward to buy a H6D and your comment made me uncertain if there is a focusing problem with it.

Goodmeme: Nice photo...the catchlights suggest use of multiple large reflectors...:)

Not at all, just regular street reflections with a photographer in the middle :-)

Triplet Perar: Leica should do more regular drug tests of their management, to find a culprit. This is a 4 element lens, more than 70 years old design, in a simple tube, with image quality and effect that secondary school kids pull out in their science projects. All effects this lens can do can be done with a $50 lens and a click in PP. And they dare to put this next to APO Cron, or SL Lux, with even a higher price tag? Call the ambulance, please.

LL - No, of course not. 6K+ watches show absolutely different time, which is much better from what I see from my humble watch. he-he. Joking. Of course they are rich idiots to waste so much money on stupid watches

BPSuisse: Damn. I have a very poor Internet connection from my village, less than 100kb/sec upstream. And I have 500+ Gb of LR catalogues with photos starting from 1990. I dig into my archives quite often. Pity, but I have to migrate everything to Capture One, which I used for selected editions only so far... F*** you, Adobe, rot in hell.

nathansmith - I hope so, but I don't believe Adobe, so I should prepare for transition already now, when the first sign came. They will cancel all those 'classic' stuff as easy as they cancelled stand-alone program, which I was buying since version 1
PS my biggest trouble are files from Hasselblad, Capture One does not read them (which is quite understandable). that was the only reason to be so loyal to LR - convenience to have all the files in one program

No, they just believe that their customers are idiots with money and I am afraid that they are right in many cases.

@Hellraiser - and who are you? (please don't take this question as disrespect) can we trust your feelings about sensor manufacturer? was it ever wrong?

ekaton: Alternatives? 1) Leica X-Vario: 16MP long in the tooth apsc sensor. Slower but exceptional lens. Much bigger and heavier. No weather sealing. No flash on board. 2) Panasonic LX100: 12MP really long in the tooth mft sensor. Reasonably fast zoom with mixed performance. No weather sealing, no flash on board.
As a second thought, this one could be my next Canon after many years of staying away from the brand.

I also think I would give it a try. It sounds promising (at least on paper). Price-wise I am old enough not to care :-)

In reply to:

theprehistorian: It's a bit worrying that Nikon don't recommend any of their 50 or 85mm primes for the new camera. Sigma and Zeiss must be delighted!

Here is what I see in the post:
•AF-S NIKKOR 58mm f/1.4G
•AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.4G
do you read only what you like to read and not what is written?

oh, that is delicious!!! I can take captures of my cat with unprecedented details and then... eh.. I would have to shrink it to be able to put on Instagram!
..wait.. I don't have a cat.. hmmm. I don't need this back then.. Please tell Hasselblad that I won't buy it this time, maybe later...

In reply to:

Kamox: Dear Nikon: make a Leica Q version of this.
I mean, make a great prime wideangle lens, a mirrorless body, stuff it with the sensor and the electronics of the D850.
And don't forget to price it as low as possible.
Thanks, that'll be all.

Oh, c'mon! Give them a break. They are camera manufacturers, not Harry Potter :-) .. Not even Santa..

tassienick: Except #6 - chimping is just a distraction, leave it for home. It's a photo walk, not an assignment for Nat Geo, no one is going to care if you missed a shot...

you would care, if a nice shot is not in focus and you would have to drive 5 hours and walk another 2 just to retake it...
