darlot: These are not great examples of B&W photos, need to check the work from the B&W masters.

I am really interested to see some great be landscapes. Could you give us a few names please.

Only 18 out of 57 shots have no exposure correction applied. 39 are either under or over corrected. Is this telling us that there is a problem with the camera metering?

jay jay02: So a 6900 will be here in 6 months with an updated touch screen and one thousand AF points.

And $500 more and the five year old A6000 will still be in the line up just to justify the mega price of the latest A6xxx.

photomedium: Seeing the whole ensemble of RX100 in one place like that makes one thing very clear: the first two old model should disappear and the rest should drop in price by 30%.
This thing is actually hurting sony from a marketing standpoint.
$450 for a now VERY outdated compact is outrageous.

@photomedium, ditch the 5000 too then

Agreed. Same goes to 6000, 6300, 6500. 6000 should go and 6300/6500 should drop in price. The 'low end' ones are only kept alive to justify the prices of the 'high end' models.

On article Elevating X-Trans? Fujifilm X-T2 Review (2204 comments in total)
In reply to:

Melchiorum: If Fuji gets it right, this will be a star of the entire mirrorless market. I don't know if people even realize how important is the move that Fuji is making. Fuji is the company that excels at photography and even with their limited video capabilities and certain other compromises they were loved by many. If they get the video stuff right, they will move from the "good for stills" category to "good for everything". Coupled with their excellent X-trans sensors and stellar quality glass this may potentially turn Fuji into a leader of this market segment, which is amazing.

Seriously, I am so rooting for this camera to be good!

@malchiorum, which raw converter do you use if you don't mind me asking? What is your workflow? I am seriously considering making Fuji my main kit.

What is the hole in lens hood top right hand corner for?

Gosh, I didn't realise it was April fools day already. I better go out and start shooting. Strapless, most likely.

Pankrac: Massive improvement or not, for me the saddest implication of this announcement is that the demand for and the price of A6000 are not likely to drop significantly any time soon. It looks like both A6000 and A6300 will remain in Sony's line up for the foreseeable future. Similar to RX100 M1, 2, 3 and 4?

Where do you live Thematic and where do you buy your stuff from? Best you can get in the UK (with kit lens) is £489 which is about $720!

On article Richard Franiec creates custom grip for Panasonic GM1 (46 comments in total)

If you insist on having a grip, check out this one:
http://flipbac.com/camera-grip-about.htm
I reckon model G3 would suit the camera nicely. $9.99 is a more reasonable price too.
Me personally, no added grip is the best option. I bought one for my RX 100 and ended up with just leather 'skin' - same finish as GM1 comes with as standard.

Does this mean that NEX-7 is 'scientifically' better than 6 times higher priced camera?

Food for thought.

Not only that, but this using this comparison NEX5N is better than a 10 times higher priced camera. Is it?

Mine disqualified too... A picture of a pure white wall lit in such an angle that it shows almost 3D detail of its surface. Increased contrast and conversion to bw to show it the way I saw it - shades of white from its purest grade with no detail in it to almost black in the darkest shade. Have a look if you want and tell me what you think.

Not sure what is white in some of the pics left in the challenge. The Host hopefully does.
