SteveY80: Still no focus bracketing feature on this $6,500 camera?

That's something I use a lot on my Panasonic cameras and it's the main thing that's kept me from switching. I'm tempted by Sony AF, so I keep on checking whenever they release a new cameras body, but every time I'm disappointed.

In camera stacking would take some development work and processing power, but simply adjusting the focus between shots should be pretty easy to implement.

Agree 100% I have the A7r4 and knew getting into into it about the limitation. I always thought that adding the focus bracketing and the RAW lossless compression would make it perfect.
So the alpha1 got the RAW lossless compression but not the focus bracketing. As such, I don't see hope the A7r4 getting either in a firmware upgrade

wassim al malak: how can that lens be compared to the new tamron 90 macro VC in term of using as a portraits lens ?

i'm thinking that the new 90 macro will cover the "portrait job" and the macro as well .

am i missing something here or what ?

I would like personally to think the same since I can't afford to buy both. But I'm afraid that there are some different renditions since the two lenses target different objectives. Can't tell yet since no one owns both yet. I would also suspect that the max aperture (f/2.8 vs f/1.8) will make a difference.
