raj varma: So many posts from folks complaining about limited A mount lenses. I best most of them just shoot with kit lens and have never need a Ziess A mount lens. I have and enjoy my 1.4 and 2.8 lenses and my images are only limited by my imagination- not lenses.

The funny thing about most e-mount shooters is that with all of these older lens from A-mount it was wonderful to adapt them to there A7's bodies and shoot great photos with them!
Now that A-mount has the A99m2 that is clearly better than anything they have they are quick to put down all of those so called old in inferior A-mount lens! I just think most of them are butt hurt they didn't get the rumored A9 in e-mount.

Vignes: What I picked out from the comments
- Sony users saying A99 II is better than A7.
- Sony is doing this because they realised that on sensor AF is not matured enough.
- Some say, it's sad that they’ve have sold most of my A mount lenses which includes me.
- Some justifying that the A99II price tag is OK (same folks whom commented that 5DMk4 is too pricey). Can’t understand why the high price is OK when you only have minimal lens options compared to Canon/Nikons offer plus 3rd party guys like Sigma don’t make that many options for A mounts.

I’m just wondering, does Sony actually needs the A99II? OR they should have concentrated on their A mount, consistently developed they body/lens and become like Canon and Nikon, DSLR brand of choice

Tamron just released 15-30 f2.8, 35 f1.8, 45 f1.8, 85mm f1.8, new 90mm macro, and new 150-600mm G2 plus they already had 24-70mm f2.8 and 70-200mm USM version all in A-mount! What lack of lens!

dbo: I mean, appreciated for those who invested a lot into A mount Zeiss and G glass.
But to be honest, it is an A7RII in an A99 body.

The good is the expected faster AF, and for sure the FM500 battery I would love to have in a slightly bigger A7 body style.

You just mad it's not an e-mount sob!

A lot of e-mount butt holes hurting about now!

virtualreality: Any macro-photographer should upgrade to mirrorless. Lots of benefits over DSLR. Easier to use, better focus, no mirror shake. Also you get access to the best (sony 90mm f/2.8) macro lens.

Everything you just mention A-mount from Sony already had in SLT Cameras and were copied by mirrorless!

Hugo808: I was working in a camera shop when these came out. I thought they were appalling rubbish and used to recommend film cameras to all customers but the screen on the back was the selling point, no matter how crap a camera was as soon as they saw the picture come up on the back it was sold. You can't beat novelty.

I recall them being rather expensive too, does anyone know how much?

Mmmmm Cibachromes Yummy!

I sold quite a few of these at $1099.99 if I recall!

Glenn Barber: If not said previously - the most important question is - will this now work reliably and fast enough on a Sony A7RII or 6300 for BIF

An A77m2 with Tamron 150-600 will be faster!

techjedi: I want to know if there will be external flash AF Assist/Illuminator support for MILC bodies.

Sony had the AF Assist in the A77 in the A77m2 they took it out now my old Minolta Maxxum 7 can focus in lower light than my new A77m2! Sony just doesn't get it! I now have to use my Pixel King for Sony Transmitter to use it's low light illuminator!

Indulis Bernsteins: These 3rd party flash manufacturers are crazy. They try to compete with Canon and Nikon, and maybe get a very small share of a big market. Why don't they start with Fujifilm and the other camera makers who DON'T already have a good selection of flashes, triggers etc. They would get almost 100% of the market, quickly. Then they could move on to Canon and Nikon.

Exactly! I don't get either pretty much every Panasonic, Fuji, Pentax and Sony Shooter that does any kind of flash work would die to get there hands on anything that is made!

Rishi is there any way you can ask Nissin if they are ever going to manufacture
the MF-18 Ring Flash in Sony mount? Sony sucks totally with anything that has to do with flash and I'm sure a lot of macro shooters who have a Sony camera would buy the MF-18 in a heart beat!

In reply to:

40daystogo: First off, I think the camera is ugly - but then again, everyone's taste differs. (To put this in perspective, I love the design of Apple, Leica M's, Sony A7 series, Olympus Pen F - I hate Lumix's designs. This Pentax is even uglier than the Lumix's, that's how ugly this Pentax is to my eye).

Next, I think Pentax would have been better off bringing a Full Frame mirrorless system to take on Sony. There's no way that Pentax can compete with the market leaders Canon and Nikon, with Sony coming in 3rd. There just isn't room for another FF DSLR.

Whereas in the FF Mirrorless, apart from Sony there's no one else. All the other mirrorless systems have smaller sensors. Pentax should have tried to become No.2 in FF mirrorless behind Sony.

Every camera design you like I hate!
