virtualreality: Any macro-photographer should upgrade to mirrorless. Lots of benefits over DSLR. Easier to use, better focus, no mirror shake. Also you get access to the best (sony 90mm f/2.8) macro lens.

Everything you just mention A-mount from Sony already had in SLT Cameras and were copied by mirrorless!

Hugo808: I was working in a camera shop when these came out. I thought they were appalling rubbish and used to recommend film cameras to all customers but the screen on the back was the selling point, no matter how crap a camera was as soon as they saw the picture come up on the back it was sold. You can't beat novelty.

I recall them being rather expensive too, does anyone know how much?

Mmmmm Cibachromes Yummy!

I sold quite a few of these at $1099.99 if I recall!

Glenn Barber: If not said previously - the most important question is - will this now work reliably and fast enough on a Sony A7RII or 6300 for BIF

An A77m2 with Tamron 150-600 will be faster!

techjedi: I want to know if there will be external flash AF Assist/Illuminator support for MILC bodies.

Sony had the AF Assist in the A77 in the A77m2 they took it out now my old Minolta Maxxum 7 can focus in lower light than my new A77m2! Sony just doesn't get it! I now have to use my Pixel King for Sony Transmitter to use it's low light illuminator!

Indulis Bernsteins: These 3rd party flash manufacturers are crazy. They try to compete with Canon and Nikon, and maybe get a very small share of a big market. Why don't they start with Fujifilm and the other camera makers who DON'T already have a good selection of flashes, triggers etc. They would get almost 100% of the market, quickly. Then they could move on to Canon and Nikon.

Exactly! I don't get either pretty much every Panasonic, Fuji, Pentax and Sony Shooter that does any kind of flash work would die to get there hands on anything that is made!

Rishi is there any way you can ask Nissin if they are ever going to manufacture
the MF-18 Ring Flash in Sony mount? Sony sucks totally with anything that has to do with flash and I'm sure a lot of macro shooters who have a Sony camera would buy the MF-18 in a heart beat!

40daystogo: First off, I think the camera is ugly - but then again, everyone's taste differs. (To put this in perspective, I love the design of Apple, Leica M's, Sony A7 series, Olympus Pen F - I hate Lumix's designs. This Pentax is even uglier than the Lumix's, that's how ugly this Pentax is to my eye).

Next, I think Pentax would have been better off bringing a Full Frame mirrorless system to take on Sony. There's no way that Pentax can compete with the market leaders Canon and Nikon, with Sony coming in 3rd. There just isn't room for another FF DSLR.

Whereas in the FF Mirrorless, apart from Sony there's no one else. All the other mirrorless systems have smaller sensors. Pentax should have tried to become No.2 in FF mirrorless behind Sony.

Every camera design you like I hate!

Not with the Nex 5t! Lol!

Not with a Nex 5t! You cannot select wireless remote in the menu when using the apps! How many times do I have to point this out!

They don't work with the apps!

linzdoctor7d: Sony why can't you add remote shutter release work with your Apps instead of this! If I want to use the Nex 5T with the Apps Multiple Exposure, Time Lapse or Multi Shot there is no option in the menu. I must therefore shake the camera by pressing the shutter button.

You guy don't get it there is no way to fire the Nex 5t with a cable release at all period! There is no way to fire the Nex 5t with a wireless remote or with wifi when you are using the apps period! If you can show me a source or video that shows the Nex 5t working with any cable release or firing the shutter with a wireless trigger when using the apps please show me so I can eat my words. Please read carefully before giving a reply because I have searched high and low for months and could not find a solution. Remember this for the Nex 5t!

There is no way to use either a wired or wireless or wifi shutter release from a smart phone with the apps at all on the Nex 5t. Sony does not have an option in the menu to select. The EVF which attaches cost more than the camera! dark goob is correct Sony does have my money for flawed products! I'm saving up for the possible Pentax full frame or K3mII camera so I don't have to continue to endure this nonsense from Sony! The K3 has all of these features built in!
