  • It seems to be the same response from tony northup and camera store about the front focus issue, I'm sure others will chime in when they get more time to test one way or the other.

  • EV2 I just read your earlier post you do realize EV and bits as I tried explaining above are different and not dependent on each other. Think of it in terms of tv's companies have advertised...

  • So dynamic range is not color depth, DR is a measure from dark to bright, doesn't necessarily have anything to do with color. While color depth or bit is a measurement of color variations. They...

  • At least the d5 has a fix, Sony not exactly known for a lot of updates but true maybe generation two of the a9 might be better and may prove to be a great camera. The major a9 hardware flaw is its...

Rishi my understanding is bit depth deals with colors while DR deals with dark to bright regions. Bit depth is color range/depth while dynamic range is the ratio between dark to bright regions. ...

  • Actually, Image resource says the opposite, qoute "soft images that were more often than not slightly front-focused; almost as if the tracking prediction algorithm was a bit too aggressive, jumping...

7 reviews say 2-3 minutes to clear, one says 36 seconds, I wonder which is more likely correct.

  • I'm not a live by DXO person, since I use a phase one with 16 bit and it's not rated that way along with many others but as a user you can see the difference. Use what works for you just don't...

  • Nice try, look me up, I shoot commercial photography and pro sports, PGA, LPGA. Everything is not shoot at ISO 6400 or 12800 when it's sunny outdoors most of the time for golf, so it all depends...

  • For the most important part on sport continuous shooting IR commented on forward focus issue and missing the money shot, so not sure they were more impressed with the a9 since they stated the d5...

  • But still less than 14 and that's what Nikon and canon offer.

You forgot IR stating front focusing with fast tracking causing a missed money shoot. Qoute" soft images that were more often than not slightly front-focused; almost as if the tracking prediction...

  • Just because one person excited about the camera claims it take 36 seconds one time doesn't mean it's a fact, several reviewers including IR have stated it takes 2-3 minutes to clear. IR has also...

  • It's not full raw it's 12 bit, what does the a9 shoot at full raw?

  • Seems to be a lot of the reviewers common thought same as IR quote " soft images that were more often than not slightly front-focused; almost as if the tracking prediction algorithm was a bit too...

The sensor is fine, electronic shutter and artificial light creates banding issues. No mention of wether that is the case on the a9 or not yet.

  • Sony also stated their g lenses including sport zooms are not weather resistant but dust and moisture resistant if the lens as well as A series camera is caught in the rain it is not warranted for...

  • Barney contact Sony Pro they'll tell you the a9 is dust resistant but not weather resistant, any contact with moisture is not warranted.

  • Still not weather sealed, huge mistake if Sony wants to attract sports and wildlife pros. The 1d and d5 customers like myself by these cameras for their durability and reliability.

  • Very interesting lenses, curious to find out how they will perform with medium format.
