Interesting, and probably useful in some situations for some people. But a little freaky to watch. Mount a scary clown head on it for school photos and watch their expressions.

On article Nikon Z 85mm F1.8 S sample gallery (258 comments in total)

It would have been nice to have a second shooter with a DSLR and the 85 AFS 1.8. Shooting identical images and cameras set up relatively similar to each other. Real Life comparisons to give us references to gauge the degree of improvement between "old system to new generation".

RecklessCoding: Like every Olympus-related article, there are the usual "Olympus is doom"/"This will kill Olympus"/"with such a small sensor, it can't justify being over X pricetag" comments that have been going on since the early days of 4/3.

What is new this time, is that there is at least one climate-change denier comment...

@ Andrew, there is a growing group of flat earthers who believe climate change is causing the the surface to curve and wrap into a sphere, which will cause great floods because instead of dripping off the edge into space the rivers with nowhere else to go will wrap around and accumulate.

Same here. Someone else can have my copy that I'm not buying.

Tony Northrup: I'm glad for this and we'll test it today... but losing all my settings is completely unacceptable. What other software do you update and it loses all your preferences? That's definitely going to cause some pros to miss shots because they forgot to re-map some button or other setting. I've customized my a9 gradually over the entire time I've owned it and there's no good way to know which settings are custom and which are default.

I like the suggestions of backing up camera settings with a phone. Even if you aren't going to go through an upgrade, it's always good to have those saved. I think I will do that this weekend!

I'll bet your Betamax clock is blinking too. Should i send my grand daughter over today when she wakes up from her nap,?

landscaper1: Interesting, but what I'd like to see is a program that would convert photo images to corresponding areas of solid color or shades of grey.

Which could then be converted back to photo realistic images??

Nabilon: It should be added the Nikon has recently added the U-Point technology back into Capture NX-D, like it has been part of Capture NX2 before.

Really ?? I've always ignored NX-D. I guess it's time to open up the program and do an update :D

JanMatthys: It's clunky, slow, buggy, but still the best for converting .NEF files

Bog- I just squeaked in the NX-2 club with my D600 as well. I've always enjoyed using the software as long as I didn't have a lot of images to process. The U-point is still amazing to work with.

Photo_AK: One word - FastRawViewer

Never heard of FastRawViewer until now. Skimming their website I don't see mention (yet) of JPEG. Should one assume that it does in fact handle JPEG? I was contemplating PM but I can't justify the cost for myself.

Sure.. a boat captain from Florida saved her. In Iceland? What??
How dumb do you have to be to be to belive this scam?

Weather The Rescuer was a boat captain or not or from Florida or Finland or Finbucktu is completely irrelevant to the story. It should not have been even mentioned in the story. I'm so tired of bad reporting.

It's weird how "extreme" ring-sport has become the vogue subject matter for photo equipment testing.
