mikeodial: I would be interested to know how the new Sony is better than the Fuji GFX 50s for landscape. It seems like an impossible comparison. I do have a Sony A7rii but this Fuji is in a different league for landscape in so many ways.

I do have a D810, Sony a7RII and the Fuji GFX 50s. I have stopped using the D810 completely, (the Fuji is about the same size), and use the Sony for everything except landscape. The output from the Fuji is just spectactular, even when I am not printing huge. I can tell the difference on every shot. The larger pixel size, color rendering of the sensor and neutral rendition with adapted lenses makes this camera a big difference. If I only had one camera, then perhaps the new Sony might be it, but for a specific purpose, such as landscape, I believe the Fuji to be a better solution. (Costs notwithstanding).

Is this news? A new website from a retailer. I use Adorama but really are we really that short of real news that this qualifies.

Maybe this is what Sigma had in mind when they launched the FP. Could be an alternative to the Foveon sensor in some future implementation. Interesting.

I think this will be a really great camera. I just purchased a medium format Fuji camera and I might have thought differently with this now available. It is small, powerful, good DR, and the option to use as high res as you might ever need.

Looks like a very nice lens with the signature FA. Limited look. Reminds me why I liked my Pentax and the FA limited lenses so much. Shame it's so big.

mikeodial: A Q2 with a good variable lens would be a winner. Or a 50 mm fixed lens.

I have an x vario hence my comment

D7000ShooterUK: Sorry but a camera at this price point is simply not permitted to have bad out of camera JPEG colours!

Seems reasonable to ask for great jpegs. Even my sigma camera SD Q H produces great jpegs. Also my x vario does great BW jpegs.

No EVF. Seems like a lot for no EVF put perhaps the cost if being pocketable.

Based on the comments in this thread, how many have actually used an IRIX lens? That might be a better measure of quality than just vitriol spewing out based on where a lens may be manufactured.

All my Zeiss (Nikon mount) lenses were made in Japan.

mr.izo: why this kind of lenses can't bo done with af to be used on mirrorless cameras? than whole small camera footprint would have a point..

That seems to be a well neglected sector of the market. That's why I purchased the TechARt Pro adapter.

I think when image quality is the ultimate product it seems dumb to Allow less than perfected image quality to be shown before the product is ready. Particularly important with software needed to generate the required output.

SIgma has already used this strategy with their SD Q H and seems to have worked well for them.

I think pricing could be lower at least in the beginning. This will open the door for lens sales and a basis for the three camera vendors supporting the mount.
