Compared to nothing! Show same photos from prior version, so we can compare apples and apples.

stevo23: Always a dilemma with photography and events like this. Why was he taking pictures and not helping? Why did he publish those photos and thereby give the guy a forum? If you're not asking these questions, you should worry. Journalism is at heart voyeuristic, crass and burlesque, but without it, I think we would be overrun by tyrants.

"Why was he taking pictures and not helping? " Because thats his job dumb ass!

ca·pac·i·tor = (can substitute for a battery?)
kəˈpasədər/
noun
a device used to store an electric charge, consisting of one or more pairs of conductors separated by an insulator.

? Can the capacitor just replace the battery & side step the fast charging heat & power problems? Get 2 or more capacitors & simply swap out till you get to a charging station!

LarsPolarBear: Not quite sure why people should get excited about this... for these prices you can get other cameras...

e.g. Oly E-PL7 with underwater casing...

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00SW10CKM/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1479974443&sr=8-5&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=olympus+pt-ep12&dpPl=1&dpID=51URYBaDV%2BL&ref=plSrch

The E-PL7 comes with a small flash which works quite well under water...
This is a m4/3 camera with a proper housing...
There are also good deals for Canon G7x (II) or Oly OMD 10 with Meikon housing availabe. Not sure what they are trying to achieve...

? The Sealife cameras I have seen are waterproof without a housing! This camera look simular & looks waterproof to me = 1/2 the weight & 1/2 the bulk of Larspolarbear's OMD EM10 with Meikon housing example, . . . my best guess.

Tilt screen very important for snorkeling, but only if underwater housing will allow its use. Will they?

Graphite on rocks, trees & bathroom mirrors is real = Vandalism!
Real vandals ought to be chained to their crime so the public could spit on them!

Re-Read - Trespassing can be carefully done in SOME PLACES . . .
also when I read Vandalism I think with deliberate intent to cause permanent damage. I think the rule breakers did minor temporary damage not vandalism, iMHO.

The park service is out of control, they should be there to inform & help not dictate, tote pistols, issue tickets for hiking without a permit! These public servants go on strike & lock us out of OUR parks by locking the gates. This is BS. The NPS also destroyed the oyster farm at Pt. Reys. Oyster are natural & filter the water improving the water quality. I think there are enough retired people to do the 90% of the rangers legitimate functions for 1/4 the cost, many do this now for free camping space!
Not enough info on the Grand Prismatic incident to comment on that specifically, damage foot prints in boiling mud or what?

Or even better, show your own superior collection so we can understand what's wrong with the contest images or the judges.

His house seams way to big to be paid for by his photography. Looks like a annual income of around USA $250,000 to $____________ ? in todays $'s. If you know what his income was compared to __________ or to the average I would love to know. Remember the price of gold then was $35/oz? so $1,000/35=28.6 oz x todays $1,268.20/oz = $36,234. Please comment if you know.

I like Ed Weston's printed subject matter better, but AA invented advanced darkroom techniques, so he was the 1st GREAT film development guy the modern day equivalent of a Photoshop Master when no one else was, but that is a separate skill from picking great compositions. Or maybe his fame caused printing of his not great images. I agree about Clyde Butcher see Jeff Engel below. What do you think?

Maybe not the biggest but the one I'm buying is the Nikon KeyMission 170. Should have been made years ago! I had a MF 6x6, 6x4.5, 6x7 film cameras but cost of Fuji MF is to high now.
