I still own 20D (from 2005 that I payed 1800$ now is worth 50$) with 46 000 clicks on it and it can still take decent images in a daylight.I do not need 25 000 ISO to make my pictures better. And no I am not ashamed to pull it out and take photos...When I calculate how much money I spend on the gear it is around 11 000$ (buying selling gear). Well Canon I do not have that much money today. And I will continue to use my 20D until I got dead or hot pixel on my sensor or a shutter problem.
Iphone 4S picture quality is sufficient enough., some apps like Snapseed can edit image while I walk. (no need to sit in front of my home comp for days to edit my Raw files)

Market is over-saturated with cameras and gear and there is not much need for that.

arqomx: is this really ISO 6400? now i'm thinking about trading my X20 for this one :D

I compered these images with a FUJI X20(and some other ones) and Panasonic hands down beats all of them.I am Canon Fan and waiting for new M camera. But if nothing comes to the market, I am buying this baby.I am impressed how noise is managed and yes it is SHARP unlike Fuji...

Again another camera that is not CanNik brand and all I can read about, great sensor, color etc but FUNCTIONALITY, the basic mechanic yet again is a failure. How long it would take them (Fuji,Sony,Olyimpus,Panasonic) to come up with product that will not fail within first year? I am not saying that 2 major players did not have horrible cameras on the market but in a much less percentage that all others...I am still waiting for decent compact camera.

Better not to have EVF, oh wait that is Nex series camera...to me to adopt or even consider a Sony cam NEED to have optical or no viewfinder at all.I tried to focus with EVF on alpha series but my eye is drawn to actual grid on a small monitor not the object that I am trying to take picture off...that lead to blurry images.

srados: Why is that on these forums there is a LOT of people that complain and nit-pick about features like "how they will not buy camera because button does not exist". It reminds me about commercial when guy is sitting in formula 1 and obviously does not have money to purchase it, he was asking a sales person "does it comes in blue"??? It seems to me photographers are bunch of cry-babies that did forgot the fact that not so long ago we were shooting FILM and that was a challenge...especially changing roll in the middle of the shoot. No button to press...not to mention 5-10% of failed pictures for wedding for example. For the record I will continue to use my trusty Canon 20D...I like the new Nikon line!!!Especially 4D.If I could afford it to make money with it, I would buy it, no I am not asking does it come in blue... :-)

to elaborate, we need to change, if you do not want to change stick to what you like.Your old camera...

Eden S: Unfortunately I think most of the people posting here fail to realize the potential for a camera like this. They see no further than the current product in front of them (basically a prototype.) Imagine in the future now, employing the concept behind this camera into larger SLR bodies, VIDEO, stereoscopic photo/video with unlimited depth of field, maybe an f1.8 shot with unlimited DOF, underwater stuff where light is limited, military equipment, etc. Even I can't fathom how this can change how we capture, so I wouldn't be so bold as to condemn the technology. Some people have absolutely no imagination, yet they take up a hobby or profession like photography... Then they post here on DPReview how they want technology to stop evolving just like they have.

As long long camera is breaking the stereotypes I will not have wide appeal and audience.Problem is with digital technology is consumed as toilet paper,as such, these new arrivals are seen as gimmick.I am still happy with my Canon 20D as long as I can purchase spare batteries for it.

Visage Photography: Eeek!.. looks very rough around the edges, you can't be serious about editing an image on a screen this size surely?

All this technology is made for serous AMATEURS.If I am going to rely on the thickness of my FINGER to pick a PIXEL. Makers of this are smoking some serous hallucinogens substance...not to mention SIZE of the screen no matter how much you can zoom in.I am pretty skeptical about miniaturization of something that need to be big. Also processor power is something that is NOT POWERFUL enough to manage 20 megapixel RAW image...which is again not available in these smart devices.
