On article Review: The Wandrd Prvke is a near-perfect camera bag (353 comments in total)

We never find the perfect bag because we are all different.
When I hike I bring: 200-500, 24-70, 14-24, 70-200/4 and 105 macro.
And a tripod, of course.
The Thinktank Airport Acceleration has been working for me for the last ten years but could use a better waist strap.
Just returned from 8 days of steep hikes in the Vail area; my kit worked very well.

About time we got a tripod that gives us "extraordinary composition".
I was blaming myself for all my mundane compositions; now I now it was the tripod's fault all along.

Camera Labs and I both like the Nikon 70-200 f4 VR zoom. I rarely use the 70-200 f2.8 zoom due to weight. That pretty much wraps it up for me.

Impressive zoom but not interested. Something with a 1 inch sensor would have been much more appealing to me. And getting sharp photos at 3000 mm is challenging with any equipment. Atmosphere alone is a problem.

On article Rumor: Samsung Galaxy S10 to feature triple-camera (165 comments in total)

Triple is good but I’m holding out for the dodecahedral phone camera.

The last thing I want to see is an hour long video.

On article Sony 'striping': here's the fix (777 comments in total)

If Hank can mitigate striping why not Sony via a firmware?

72 hours after submitting my info ("We'll get back to you in about 24 hours") I have yet to hear from them about my free upgrade to Jupiter. Not impressed with their customer service.

Free enterprise. Can’t blame them for trying.

PhotoKhan: The sheer number of non-Canon users commenting on Canon news is amazing, even if it is a "non-news", as in this case.

It is like, no matter how much well catered they say their photography is through the options they freely made, they feel forever collectivly orphaned from something they can not quite put their finger on.

Whether a Canon user or not is irrelevant. We are all potential if not current Canon users.

Edmond Leung: For professional market, mirrorless is meaningless. For general consumer market, mirrorless can be a complementary product to smartphones.

Professional market: silent shooting, no black out, amazing eye focus.
These features are very relevant. My friend, a wedding pro, switched from Canon to Sony.

I take this to mean Canon is working on a full frame mirrorless camera that will be competitive with their high end DSLRs. Bravo!

Photato: Three Factors at play here IMHO.
1. Mature saturated market
2. Lack of innovations from most brands.
3. Smartphones

Compact sales impacted by #3
DSLR sales impacted by #1

Maybe some are holding off, waiting for mirrorless.
