IdM photography: Won't buy, I prefer 28mm (and f1.2 would be better...)...

24mm is so passé. I only use 25mm now.

"In a comment to DPReview, a Canon representative said ‘No comment at this time.’"

Here's my comment on this comment that's not a comment.

It looks like the Artist Statement and Location from slide 14 were accidentally copied onto 13 as well?

Thank you. I watched the video, but it wasn't until I read this inciteful comment that I learned the camera isn't digital.

Ed Ingold: Depiction of suffering is cancelled? How about the evening news, Are not the reporters paid. The stations? The networks? Have sponsors withdrawn? Artists have profited from depictions of suffering since before recorded history, more often in glorification of warfare than in its dire reality.

Censorship in any form is ultimately harmful, whether by political leaders or effete media moguls. It goes hand-in-hand with propaganda and social manipulation.

To be fair, everything at McDonalds is a bit tasteless.

Michiel953: Can we get off the "video" cameras?

Probably not.

@Michiel953: You don't seem to understand the meaning of "skip".

verb (used without object), skipped, skip·ping.
-to move in a light, springy manner by bounding forward with alternate hops on each foot.

Wait, I don't think that's right...

verb (used with object), skipped, skip·ping.
-to pass over without reading, noting, acting, etc.

Ah, there we are!

Where did DPR find the accompanying descriptions for each photo? When I go to the TPOTY winners gallery, clicking on an image simply enlarges it with no text description.

refrax: Aren't those graffiti covered road signs in the bottom right of the photo facing the wrong direction?

Nope, the cars are driving the wrong way. 😲

Actually, those lanes switch directions to match the commuter traffic: entering the city in the morning and exiting in the afternoon.

Macro guy: What happened to Jordan's right hand handle bar that connected his mustache to his beard? What was that movie where a cowboy comes into a bar, grabs another cowboy, lays him down on top of the bar and shaves off half of his mustache with a knife?

Macro guy spots the little details? Username checks out!
