I agree with your larger point, but here blur and lack of sharpness is actually a purposeful aesthetic choice--a sought-after trait of many pieces in your show, and in the pieces illustrating your ...

You may be able to just about do it with the 16mp Olympus EM10 mark ii, plus the Panasonic 12-32mm pancake-ish zoom. That is a sweet small travel pak to this day.

I spy one of my personal favorites, the b&w of young people in Paris circa '79-'80. I lived in France August 1979 to August 1980 doing a full year of university toward my degree . . . and that is ...

I've never subscribed, but have purchased many single issues over the years from my local international newsstand (whose survival I'm worried about, as hard-copy magazines are a delicious ...

You beat me to it, and thank you.

Well, if you're looking for compact with an excellent small prime forget the RF styling and the 40mp and go EM10iv, EM5iii or OM5 with the 20mm f1.7 or other small excellent prime of your choice. ...

Every now and then I manage to take the high road.

HCB wasn't "trapped" with anything, he used small primes of his choice. And they weren't wide angle. HCB is Exhibit A of my point.

A GFX50rii with IBIS would fill that wish space for me. I refuse to pay MF or FF prices or for that matter current Fuji X100-series prices to be locked in to one focal length, especially favoring ...
-
The Z 40mm is plenty good enough to "hop on plane." Stopped down even a tad it equals and slightly bests those smaller F primes. If you're okay going manual, Voigtlander does the wonderful 35mm ...

This character took the Z 40mm F2 through Tokyo's Shinjuku red light district and showed the results as he strolled . . . . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ac6fDzsnhfQ

I don't want one. I hate mushy X-Trans. I might like 40 megapixels in a FF or mini-MF camera, but in APSC I think it's pushing certain inherent limits a bit far. I do like the Fuji Bayer-sensor ...

I'm not in the market for this camera, and I do find "Defenders of the Faith" syndrome at its most overwrought at times in the Fuji X forum. But not in this instance. I've been a professional ...

Yes, everyone but me wants as Z70 or Z500. I don't need toddler or birding AF superpowers. I just want IBIS for the Zfc and/or IBIS and accessory vf for the Z30. WR would also be nice.
-
If we're talking, 1 focal length in the m43 lens universe . . . Panny 20mm f1.7 all day and all night. Would love an updated WR version. Oly 25mm f1.8 close runner-up.

+1 for Z30ii with an accessory EVF available. IBIS would be nice too, but the available vf is make- or- break.

The market that's there is for more options in small retro ILC choices like the PENs, not more dust- sucker fixed-lens cameras, especially at current prices. My still-delightful XF10 and Coolpix A ...

This camera, minus the fixed lens. Because many of us have no wish to be locked in to WA.

Yeah, my Nikon Coolpix A and Fuji XF10 were just right at around $475 each. Beautiful image quality for stills of still scenes/subjects, too. Higher price tag, I want ILC.

Cartier-Bresson didn't use a fixed-lens camera. He shot Leica ILC with a small prime attached. I'm with the OP--I'd rather "make my own" and have that freedom to switch out. I do have a few spiffy ...
