just double checking that it's not the mount section at the back of the lens, rather than the flange on the body? i've seen reports of mount screws loosening, too.

In Full Auto mode, in addition to aperture, shutter, ISO and focus, i'd suggest standing in the two painted footprints next to the old Kodak "take photo from here" sign. don't forget to have your ...

i strongly recommend a constant kelvin white balance, and shoot in raw. you can adjust any image to suit your taste afterwards; often, there is a gray-enough surface to use for fine tuning, i carry ...

this is one reason to keep the pdf of your owner's manual on your computer. searching for terms like "shoot without lens" are far easier that way, than paging through the booklet

i have also seen suggestions that you can wrap a pec pad around a swab. pec pads are much cheaper. i tried it, seemed to work well and safely,

absolutely right. plus in-camera pano is jpeg, while you can stitch raw images in post. i learned that the hard way.

i think there was a posting elsewhere on dpreview (years ago) where the image and the histogram were identical. *that* is perfect.

do you have the same issue left or right eye to the finder?

i pefer to keep my files as raf rather than dng. i believe that dng will be supported indefinitely, once you convert you can't go back. if in future somebody develops an improved raf converter, i'd ...

I use an XT2, generally in full manual, when i can plan my shots. family gatherings are a different world - the goal is capturing a "decent" shot. so the ideal combo of settings is less important ...

very comprehensively said. thanks!

i think you have to go with the 10-24, and your budget and time will determine the first or second version since they are optically identical. the angle of view f wide angle lenses matters a *lot* ...

I believe you will find Fuji's website table showing lens/extension tube/magnification table quite useful for decisionmaking. the Canon 2-element 50D diopter sets are also quite good, and are often ...

the not-especially-obvious fact is that the moon is in bright sunlight - in effect, you need to take a daylight photo of the moon - so, a decent starting point is whatever you would have done in ...

Thanks. that makes much more sense.

so, Fuji tells us to manually focus on the closest point in the subject before launching focus stacking... and the camera moves the lens towards infinity in a series of steps. which says that the ...
