We're going to get a mini Z9 class sports APS-C from fuji, and I'd be surprised if nikon went to the trouble of a new non-stacked APS-C sensor. That narrows nikon's choices down to either slapping ...

@RLight What should I be looking at on that page? Here's the jp canon...

The EF-M 18-150 gets 0.31 magnification; while the RF-S gets 0.69 (according to the japanese canon site). That's absurdly good for such a tiny change to the lens diagram, and better than most RF...
-
The canon jp site has lens diagrams; the 18-150 is a ported EF-M lens (at least it looks identical, and MTFs are nearly identical) and the 18-45 is a new design. IMO the 18-45 is massively cost...

Z50 and 18-140 are weather sealed, and the 18-140 supports AF-C and VR

Nikon might have outsourced parts of lens manufacture with the tamikon f/2.8 zoom. It's Chinese made, and Tamron has a factory there, while Nikon has been moving manufacture of their cheaper ...

I haven't upgraded, and my version gets a popup saying that the browser I'm using isn't supported by the google maps API. It also complains that I'm not connected to the internet (yet I can post ...

This has shallower DoF than an 85mm f/1.4 on FF. DoF is focal length independent with the same framing

I meant the 24-70 f/4, as that's in OP's gear list. That's why I asked if OP needed f/2.8
-
Not quite - that's true if you have to turn up the ISO to the point where photon noise dominates, but for landscape work shooting at base ISO is common. In that situation you're free to slow the ...

Do you have to have f/2.8 or the small size? The 24-70 with some tape to keep it at 28mm should give similar performance

Doesn't seem to be, viltrox doesn't offer a 33mm f/1.2. It's also incredibly expensive for a viltrox lens, that's almost double the price of the viltrox AF 33mm f/1.4

A very useful tool for all the new lens/camera rumour discussion on this site. Oh magic 8 ball, will they release that UWA lens I want before my next trip?

So long as you can make a good homogenous glass sphere, ray tracing inside of it is the easy part! It might be possible to do something clever with variations in cooling rates or residual stress in ...

It would be fun to have a split image focussing prism simulation on the Zfc (or any Z camera), but this is completely different to that

@unhappymeal Isn't that just an OM-1?

1) You get 7mm of extra *depth* because the body gets narrower for the recess that the screen fits into. You don't need more than 7mm to fit a button 2) The magnification touch areas are on the ...

If the flip out part was only as big as the screen you'd gain around 7mm of extra space where the touch sensitive part used to be - plenty of space for buttons

The number of dice you can fit on a wafer scales linearly with die area, but the number of those dice that work drop exponentially as the area increases. The defect density of the process has a ...
