We’re heading out tomorrow. I’m bringing: -Df (I’ve also used the D4) -85mm f/1.4 -20mm f/1.8 I’ve tried the f/2.8 zooms, but the parks are crazy dark at night. It doesn’t seem that bad because ...

Ha! Got me. There have been a LOT of zombie threads lately.
-
And once again, no one mentions photography in reeeeealy low light conditions. 85/1.4D is your bunny.

Nikon doesn't make any SLR macros anymore, so a modern anyfocallength mm F-mount macro lens is a pipe dream. Your choices are a used 200mm (which still fetches ~$1000 for a nice copy) or a used ...

Why is it always, "A prime forces me to think"? Couldn't you get the same effect from either a prime or zoom by, oh, I dunno, thinking before you shoot?
-
Whoa! MPB currently has 22 available. :-o

Leonard, much of what I wrote was cut off in that post. It agrees with what you wrote, just not in as much detail. So, at the end of the day, for NEF files: 1. ADL good 2. HDR not good

Right, but... The weirdness of ADL: (1) The NEF file does not apply ADL in-camera ('...retouch menu...after shooting.') but it is applied to in-camera JPEG

And here I had forgotten to post Plane pics from my April Durango trip. We returned from Silverton on the Durango&Silverton to the sight of a forest fire! They had fixed and rotary in the air ...

"Math" can't be patented, but mathematical algorithms can. At least in the U.S.
-
Full circle indeed. The Df is just a camera, but the emotions it still stirs up is strange. Autofocus sucks? Boris closeup Sky is horrible? Moonset over a windsock. Landscape/sky/astro all-in-one. ...

I’m not sure what “the Nikon look” is, but for ultimate flexibility, use the microNikkor.
-
Nope. 133 dpi is well more than enough when viewing a picture mounted on a wall. It’s all about angular resolution.
-
75%? Sure, why not. They will be unrepairable by then anyway.

Single-digit bodies starting with the D4.
