zakk9: One thing that is important to remember is that Pentax offers a very extensive range of lenses for the APS-C format, including primes from 15 to 560mm, all kinds of zoom lenses including the oddball 20-40mm Limited, pancake lenses (the 40mm weighs less than 100g) etc. It's a tempting proposition for someone who wants a DSLR for photography only and doesn't have a stack of Canikon lenses.

I have real stack of CaNikon, more than 30 lens. But Pentax apsc system is still seating on top throne.

Jesaja: Now it's time to announce dFA* 35mm f1.4 and dFA* 24mm f1.4 for 2021.
Long live PENTAX.

They already has excellent 60-250/4 and 150-450/4.5-5.6.
I think sharp 250mm f4 is better than clumsy 500mm f6.3.

Ask to Sigma that return to K mount. Or, you might can find old Sigma DG 50-500 with kfa mount.

Please keep continue to drill on larger sensor and compact module with excellent heat cooling.
In short future, they could release full frame GR on next version like gr1f or eos SL3 sized full frame DSLR.
That could be a nitche in dominated by mirrorless.

It's very nice guide.
But does it have any other options?

Josh Leavitt: Anyone know if the GR III supports full-press snap focus? That was a really cool feature on the GR II, but I haven't heard any mention of it on the GR III in the early reviews.

Ricoh has never drop full press snap focus since old gx100.
That should be integrated with 3rd version of gr, I bet.

I really love gr2's flash, that acting as a commander for pentax p-ttl system. You can do in studio lighting with this commander and p-ttl flashes.
Another big trade off no one mentioned is maximum shutter speed. It changed to 30s from gr2's 180s.
You would loose some chance of astrophotographic scenes.
But even though I'll happily purchase this new gr3 to propel with gr2 together.

Bring HD version of fa20/4, fa*24/2, K28/3.5, FA20-35/4, FA24-90/3.5-4.5, F17-28fish-eye to us.
Even without any modifications except coating and re-casing that will work brilliantly.

It's really good news. They do something.

Refining old fashioned lens is great idea and narrow but only way what Ricoh can do now.
Bring back more post acclaimed lens please!

Jefftan: no AF fine tune a serious problem?

That's not big deal without AF fine tune,
but it means more possibility to get problems with third party lens.

I really enjoy with my D3400 for casual and (or) serious backup shots.
