  • I have both in my home at this moment.  Owned the Tamron before I upgraded to the M5. At that point, Tamron did not have a firmware update available for the VCIII and we were headed to Thailand ...

  • alot of this is very basic but a few good tips.  He is right..the manual is not very good.
  • My "update" from Tamron was seamless and quick incl shipping. But, I never send anything of value to my home.  It goes to my workplace.  I live in a nice neighborhood but I have had a package get ...
  • I have a Tamron 18-200 VC III (just updated to M5 spec) and it holds up quite nicely compared to the 18-150. The Canon is a bit better to my eye but I also think the Tamron is better on the long ...
  • Now I don't feel as bad.  I'll ask my wife. She was right there with me.  She usually picks up on aritistic nuances like that. Either way, that was a highlight on this trip.
  • oops, must have "missed" that.  Went back to orig raw file but not in the frame.  I was totally awe struck with the whole white temple experience. Now you gave me a reason  reason to pick up an ...
  • Just came back from Thailand with M5 and 18-150 and 22mm. Worked out as planned. Most cloudy/rainy so not the best lighting situations but the little camera handled it. Might have missed a couple ...

  • Mine arrived today. Love the size, weight, quality feel. Just a couple quick snaps around the house. Too cold and got home after dark to really give it a good test. Shot raw, convert to dng, ...
  • I think the big heavy lenses somewhat defeat the small form factor concept i am tired of carrying the big rig and bag of glass.  So going away in. 10 days with m5 and 22 mm and 18-150 (due to me ...

I have a Tamron 18-200 v-3 but its not compatible w/ M-5 right now.  I was going to wait till it could be re-flashed but that was not going to be in my time frame for taking the M-5 only on this trip.
  • Beautiful work.  Thanks for posting. I have the 18-150 in transit to me and am leaving for Thailand right after first of year. Leaving the DSLR at home and hoping that this will be my travel setup ...
