That's correct. The in camera settings, apart from 1080p/4k and the frame rate, are for compression purpose inside the camera and do not modify the HDMI output.

It's very annoying, but you have to disconnect and toggle the setting every time you want to upload files to the computer or use the raw converter. Fuji should make it more convenient.
