Danmancity's current gear

Nikon D700
Nikon D750
Nikon AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G
The camera that made me switch from Canon, love the more natural grain that higher ISOs give vs the Canon's of the same generation. It may be missing some of the niceties but you can't argue with the files, just as good as the latest and greatest if you can live with 12mp.
Love the feel of the camera over the D700, deep grip makes a huge difference. Definitely noticed improved AF and rear screen. First 2 outings have required real high ISO and has performed perfectly. Much nicer to use for longer periods overall.
My only Nikon lens for many years. Made a nice change coming to this from the Canon equivalent when it comes to focus speed and noise, and great images from a lens that cost me £50!
Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II
Nikon AF-S Nikkor 85mm F1.8G
Tamron SP 24-70mm F2.8 Di VC USD G2
No desire to try the 2.8E while this lens performs so well. Love how it turns anything into something beautiful.
It was such a cheap pickup it just made sense to give it a try. It's perfectly usable at 1.8, but by 2.8 I would say its equivalent to the 70-200 VRII so dont know how much use this will get yet. Nice to have a light weight option.
Softer than the Nikkor 2.8G at 70mm, but having VC is sometimes invaluable.

Canon EOS 5D
Canon EOS 50D
Canon EOS 400D (EOS Digital Rebel XTi / EOS Kiss Digital X)
Possibly the best skin tone rendering in any digital camera?
Shot a couple of weddings with this body and really struggled with it's ISO performance. Never truly loved this camera.
My first DSLR and actually shot my first wedding with it!
Canon EF 50mm F1.8 II
Canon EF 70-200mm F4L USM
Nikon AF-S Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8G ED
Extremely sharp. Pair this crappy AF with Canon's crappy AF bodies and you have no chance in low light.
I had an incredibly sharp copy, ended up selling because F4 wasn't cutting it with the ISO performance of the 50D. Great lens though.
My first true "Pro" grade lens, loved the copy for the short time I had it but developed the zoom grinding issue. Replaced with the Tamron G2 which, while not as sharp, does have some excellent VC.
Tamron SP AF 17-50mm F/2.8 XR Di II LD Aspherical (IF)
Noisy AF, Bargain price for the images it produced.
