MiWo's current gear

Fujifilm X-E3
Fujifilm XF 14mm F2.8 R
Fujifilm XF 16mm F2.8 R WR
Great camera. It's small and light enough that you can carry it all day without noticing it's there. The AF is quick and reliable. The IQ is great. It could do with a bigger EVF (coming from X-T1) and a flippy screen, but there's not much else I'd change.
Fujifilm XF 35mm F2 R WR
Nikon AF Nikkor 180mm f/2.8D ED-IF
Apple iPhone 6
Nice and sharp. I doesn't quite have the magic rendering of the 35mm 1.4, but the much quicker AF raises the chances of getting the shot expotentialy. Makes the X-E3 coat pocket sized.
I wish Apple had released the SE earlier… The 6 definitely isn’t one of Cupertino’s finest IMO

Other gear:
  • A Fuji tele prime (200/2.8 or 300/4) that really works well with both TCs

MiWo's previous gear

Fujifilm FinePix 2800 Zoom
Panasonic Lumix DMC-LC1
Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX1
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W1
Leica X1
FujiFilm FinePix XP10 (FinePix XP11)
Fujifilm X100S
Fujifilm X100T
Nikon D40
The best photography teacher in the world. Lacks flexibility, the WA and tele converters are to cumbersome
The best photography teacher in the world, only made better. A significant upgrade to the X100S in regards to usability
Sony Alpha NEX-5N
Nikon D3200
Fujifilm X-E1
Very nice camera with great IQ. Loses out in build quality compared to other X-cams
Fujifilm X-M1
Fujifilm X-T1
Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G VR
Was meant as a back-up body, but the un-Fuji-like controls killed it for me
With one word - awesome! Perfect UI, great IQ, sufficient speed.
Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR
Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR
Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-105mm F3.5-5.6G ED VR
Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm F1.8G
Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 10-24mm f/3-5-4.5G ED
Nikon AF DX Fisheye-Nikkor 10.5mm f/2.8G ED
Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D
Sony E 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 OSS
Tamron SP AF 90mm F/2.8 Di Macro
Sony E 55-210mm F4.5-6.3 OSS
Fujifilm XF 35mm F1.4 R
Fujifilm XF 60mm F2.4 R Macro
Small and light lens with beautiful organic rendering. But the AF still remains a major weak point.
Great IQ, AF isn’t that bad after FW updates and the rendering at F2.4 is pure magic, much better than 56mm F1.2 IMHO
Sigma 19mm F2.8 EX DN
Samyang 8mm F2.8 UMC Fisheye
Fujifilm XF 55-200mm F3.5-4.8 R LM OIS
Fun lens with good IQ but I wasn’t using it enough to warrant its stay in the bag. One downside: minimal focus distance is too long
Fantastic lens with beautiful rendering. I’m still kicking myself for selling it but it needs faster AF and WR to warrant a repurchase
Fujifilm XF 27mm F2.8
Fujifilm XC 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OIS
Fujifilm XC 50-230mm F4.5-6.7 OIS
It’s sharp, but nothing else. I don’t like the in-between FL and come to hate the lack of an aperture ring
Sharpness might be OK but lacks in color rendering and contrast IMHO
Fujifilm XF 10-24mm F4 R OIS
Samyang 12mm F2 NCS CS
Fujifilm XF 50-140mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR
Very versatile lens. Contrary to common opinion, the OIS is very useful on UWA and works great. It was supposed to be my walk around lens but the weak long end killed it for me - my copy just didn’t deliver above 20mm.
Great for Astro, but as a general purpose landscape lens it just can’t handle in-frame light sources well enough
Ultrafast, ultrasharp, great OIS, beautiful rendering. Could benefit from a diet but then again so would I ;-)
Fujifilm XF 16-55mm F2.8 R LM WR
Fujifilm XF 23mm F2 R WR
Fujifilm XF 50mm F2 R WR
Very capable allround lens. Due to its weight, for me at least, it doesn't handle well on any Fuji camera ungriped.
Nice, sharp and very small allround lens. The 35mm FF equiv. FOV makes it perfect for city walks and trekking. Together with the 50mm F2 a very versatile everyday combo. The 50mm F2 is better optically though.
Great made, quick AF, aperture ring doesn't move too easy. The lens is astoundingly sharp but still retains a creamy bokeh.
Venus Laowa 9mm F2.8 Zero-D
Apple iPhone 4
Apple iPad WiFi
Small, light and very sharp. The always present vignetting being its only downside. But for me the 9mm FL makes it only a speciality lens.
Best iPhone form factor ever. If Apple hasn’t drop iOS suport, I would still be using it
Apple iPad Mini
Apple iPad mini 2
One of the best Apple products ever, exactly the right size for what's it intended for. But it was getting long in the tooth. If only Apple would introduce a mini Pro...
