There's a good video by Omar Gonzalez where he talks about Autofocus, and he's a big Fuji fan. In the video he talks about the autofocus being good but you have to work at it, whilst with Sony ...

This has been discussed to death on here and you always get the same responses eg. I’ve had no problems, it must be user error. To sum this up though, Fuji autofocus is still not as good as Canon ...

The irony is that while cameras have got better and better, the photo viewing platform has got smaller and smaller. Photos produced on a superb 40 mega pixel camera and phenomenal lens that can ...

For low light, Iso is only to be relied on for JPEG shooters who like using the freedom of the Fuji film simulations and really don’t enjoy spending hours in front of the computer or planning ...

Great pics, much enjoyed viewing. Loved the crab and reflection. So far there aren’t dozens of whinging posts about ‘over processing’. A blessed relief for once.
-
Nice shots Casey. As a matter of interest how are finding the XH2S compared to the XT4.
-
Amazing, someone showing their images on DPReview and not a single comment saying they're over processed. Great article.
-
We’re arguing semantics here. When face detect is on, it does change the metering mode from the one already selected by the user. Here’s what it says in the XT4 manual. It may not be spot metering ...
-
That's really interesting. Did you 1/2 press the shutter button and was her face well exposed. You've made me doubt myself. I've just repeated the experiment with my XT4 and my wife's face was ...
-
That’s really strange Morris. What happens with your new X-H2S, have you tried face detect with a window behind to see what happens?
-
It says in my XT4 manual that the chosen exposure mode only works when face/ eye detection is off. In auto iso and auto shutter speed my camera is selecting spot metering. I know this because if I ...
-
My XT3 and XT4 both use spot metering when face/eye recognition is on. For portraits it’s great in normal lighting, just dial up a small amount of exposure comp (+2/3) before taking the shot and ...

Yes, nice photos. The lens is very sharp when you get the shot in focus. And the TC doesn’t degrade the image much. But the keeper rate falls off with the TC on, in my experience.
-
I tried that but the AF is much worse with the TC on, than without. Can see why people are switching to the 150-600mm.
-
It’s a very sharp lens and I’m reluctant to let it go, but at 400mm and with the TC it’s defeated me. Between 200-300mm my keeper rate is very good. Even on a tripod with all image stabilisation ...
-
I find the AF is poorer at 400mm and when the TC is added. 100 to 300mm and I get more keepers with the XT-4.
-
Exactly how I see it. I don’t mind it a bit bigger. No one complains about the size of the Leica Q2. F/1.4 and IBIS and the screen of the X-T3/5 with the leaf shutter, ND filters etc and it would ...
-
F/1.4 and I’d pay whatever.
-
Might as well get the X100V then Chris. Leaf shutter, built in flash and ND filters. Unless you're a birder of course :-)
