So I dont particularly like to be infront of the camera, but I wanted to try something. Set the camera to take 1 shot ever 3 seconds for 25 shots, then went infront of it to see how it would turn out.

Ok, I agree the 12-35 by itself is pretty slick, I just didnt have much luck with mine getting a good useful images with the extension. Shot same day on the 12-35mm f/2.8 II

So I suspect you are using some calculations here, but I dont have the experience with it to say much. What I can say is my 12-35 f/2.8 didnt take well to the macro tubes, if I had 26mm behind it ...
