My bad for typo, that's -0.3 and +0.3/+0.7 There is no +7 on the dial LOL
-
This is where exposure dial comes into play. I usually shoot -3 on scenes/wildlife and +3/+7 on people.

Wrap it in black skin? I find the size of GM fairly manageable once I take off lens foot and leave the hood at home. Takes more space in the bag if those two are on.

ahh my 1st MILC.. I wish I didn't screw the memory card slot up.. Like it's form factor paired with 16/2.8!
-
There's 24mm 2.8 from Sony and Samyang. They similarly sized on those pictured with 2860 and 35mm 2.8. Also Tamron has one but sized larger for the FL and speed. ..yet again, they're not 28mm.
-
FE28 is almost same size as FE35, there's no size savings there. I've own both and sold FE28 to get FE35. The 35 is a better lens. If you want to go smaller, get a 35 2.8 it's almost pancake in ...

more reach? then 200-600 it is. I rented 200-600 but it's too much to carry for my liking. I settled for 100-400 plus 1.4x and 2x TCs. I like how 100-400 packs small, even smaller w/o the hood. Cheers

and also FE to Z mount adapter for the Loxia..

They're good subjects to test tracking ;-) Congrats on your new gear!
-
Me too! One day.. Congrats on you new lens eeran! 35GM is my end game for 35s

Loved the FE28 when I had it and only wished it was shorter. I moved on to 35/2.8 and happier with the smaller footprint. Well done Nikon for a small 28/2. Curious of IQ comp between the two.

Glad you resolved it. I speaking of audible sounds, I wish they put a shutter sound while on e-shutter on a7iii.
-
I have FE35 1.8 but also have Samyang 35/2.8 (its dirt cheap) for the occasional ultra portable setup.
-
That's why I feel its a complete package for an a7 line. It's pretty much an a7Siii except the 4K120 crop but with $1K less price tag.
-
As an a7III owner, everything about the a7IV is very enticing. It is the most complete package Sony has come up with. OTOH, I tend to skip one gen (from a7 to a7iii) and can wait for a7V.

I ran FE55/1.8 for 2.5yrs as single lens portrait setup. Now I'm doing 35mm/85mm. I only recommend starting with 35mm IF you're pairing it with a 50mm or 85mm down the road. They have better ...

I stand corrected, Tamron 35 2.8 can focus closer. But I meant all the primes I've owned and currently own, FE35 close focus the most. To add, I also have Samyang 35/2.8 to get the smallest setup I ...
-
Valid point, macro lens are very specialized. Having short MFD on a normal lens we carry around is pretty invaluable.
-
This. MFD of Sony 35/1.8 is my favorite feature. I've owned (non-macro) primes before nothing can close focuses like Sony 35. I can shoot with just this lens all day. FOV, size, speed, AF perf, & ...
