Well done! something about 24-70/2.8 design makes it big, or size cannot be reduced further from it's DSLR brothers..

jonas ar: How cool is it to launch such an advanced system in a6400! Very, very impressive

@jonas ar, Sony did it on entry level. They can potentially do it across the board. Imagine this AF tech on all segments:
- RX0
- RX1
- RX10
- RX1000
- APS-C
- FF

Looks like they did some work with the touchscreen. Wonder how the experience now compared to current line up.

Any comparisons out there? TIA

Will only work on leveled surface. Few degrees off it will tip.

Geez, people are hard to please these days. It's a benchmark for basic FF camera, time for other manufacturers to step up. We, buyers/users, win :)

Rick Knepper: "a7R III ('ultimate resolution')"

Somebody tell Sony they are in 3rd place in terms of sensor "resolution" in the FF marketplace and last place among all brands using high pixel Sony sensors. Only within the Sony orbit would 42 MPs be called "ultimate".

It's meant the ultimate resolution in Sony's lineup. duh!

Besides the 1st scene and a few other scenes with fast moving clouds, everything else can be done in normal video and not time lapse, right?

Really impressed with AF performance! Imagine when this tech matures and becomes inexpensive to make it will trickle down to A7 entry (rumored), APS-C and even smartphone sensors (wishful thinking).

Future is looking good for us consumers :) Exciting times. Cheers
