Indeed. My camera-gear rider on my homeowner's insurance is $30/yr. Practically free. No deductible on the rider.

My copy of the 18-55 was not very good. It felt like a Nikon kit zoom. Detail tended to get lost, especially in landscapes. The 16-55 is a completely different animal. It doesn't have much ...

I own all three. As you suggest, the 10-24 is a workhorse and a damn fine lens in many respects. But it's never, ever special. I almost never use the 12. I was wrong about being OK with manual ...

Wide-angle with shallow depth of field provides a beautiful, unique feel to images produced with the 16 1.4. There's nothing quite like it. If I could only own two Fuji lenses, it would be that ...

This x1000. Or, put another way, don't screw over the guy who gets your sloppy seconds when the supplier repackages the camera and sells it to someone else.
-
That's easy: Fuji still needs a 16-80 f/4.0 for an outdoor travel lens. But it needs to be an XF lens, not XC. Quality should be as high as the Olympus 12-100.

The X-T20 is a gem. I own an X-T2, as well, but frequently reach for the 20 just because the size and "feel" are so great. That said, I do use a Meike grip, which I love.

I'm highly skeptical of claims made by reps about future products. These companies don't tend to just spread their product plans around like that. Also, I'm not aware of any 30mp APS-C sensor ...

My 16-55. It's just so great, so versatile, so durable. I have to make excuses to use my primes. It's almost too good as an all-round lens.
-
No. Not if you've done more than minor tweaks. I always chuckle when someone says "Velvia" or "Classic Chrome" when an image has clearly been processed to within an inch of its life.
-
I dunno. Using an X-T2 is pretty different than using something like a D500. Is it "vastly" different? Probably not, but it is noticeably different. We can think about ridiculously small or ...

Exactly. It is extremely difficult to match Fuji's colors -- consistently -- using another manufacturer's raw files. There's this idea floating around out there that raw data is somehow ...
-
I agree with this. But I tend to just leave the camera in Astia because it works so well as an all-rounder. It's got enough color to make landscapes look great, and enough softness to not mess ...

Fuji was really smart to make the zoom 24mm on the long end. This dramatically (for me) increases its versatility as an all-around travel lens. I previously had an Olympus kit with their ...

Why read a review of a camera you aren't interested in? Why comment? The world is full of mysteries.

This happens with certain lenses every time there's a Fuji X-Sale. I don't understand why. The problem eventually clears up after a few months. The 55-200 is an outstanding lens. Unless you need ...

I'm hoping someone can help me out here. The rear screen on my X100F won't display anything -- no live view, no menus, and no image playback. I can get all of these things to display in the EVF. T ...

Boy I wish I'd had an uncle like you! :)

A 16-80ish lens is essential for many people. Three of my friends use the Canon 24-105 almost exclusively on our wilderness trips. Nikon’ s 16-80 is a staple of their APS-C range. This kind of lens ...

I’m more jealous of the lens than the camera. Fuji needs to release a 16-80 f/2.8-4.0.
Activity older than 12 months is not displayed.
