When the Sigma 1.4 ART lens came it, it got very good reviews, probably much better reviews than the previous Canon 35mm L had. How does that compare to this lens?

I am a Canon fan boy, see my gears, and I still think that Canon is great, but how is it possible that they start selling a camera with such obvious problems? And it happens from time to time...! Yes, other companies, incl. Nikon, also had serious issues in the past, but my question is the same to all of them. How is it possible that Canon, or Nikon, etc. sell defective products?

Kodak? And Phone? - No, thank you...! They certainly are dreaming and have not hired a good marketing manager, irrespective of how 'good' the phone actually is...

Frank_BR: Out of curiosity, I did the math. To buy at list price the full line of Canon lenses with 74 models, you would spend $146,281, which is less than the $160,000 asked for this single Canon 1200mm F5.6 lens!

Great idea! Thanks for putting it in perspective! This lens is really a joke...

No wonder why Nikon had not expected such a success...

On article What is equivalence and why should I care? (2471 comments in total)
In reply to:

forpetessake: Will this article finally stop those f2=f2=f2 stupid arguments? I doubt it. Stupid arguments come from stupid people: those same people who were explained the equivalence to many times before without any success.

p.2. of the article: " Four Thirds camera with a 50mm f/2 lens at ISO100 should produce a JPEG of the same brightness as a Full frame camera with a 100mm f/2 lens at ISO100 and, set to the same F-number and shutter speed" - the exposure settings - aperture, shutter speed, ISO - will be the same on both cameras. In this regards f/2=f/2 even if the FF picture will be more pleasing due to have 4x more total light.

It would be interesting to see what experts of the Rorschach test would say about him ( - especially photos 4,7,10,11,12 - and about the people who think these are astonishing?

Considering the Canon equivalent is exceptionally great, I wonder why they priced it this way? Just because it is black?

Forgive my ignorance...Where can I enjoy 4K Video? My TVs are only HD, my computer monitors are HD! What is the benefit of 4K Video over 2K? So I can crop? In still photography it makes sense to have higher and higher resolution, up to a limit of course, as I can have large prints with high MP photos, but for videos? Is there any 'everyday' benefit of having 4K over HD? Will they look nicer on a HD screen? Or it is only for professional film making and large screens? If so, why put in in an amateur body?

the most abused ones... which is not a surprise, as possibly that is the range most people find themselves to shoot at...
