  • Very nice stuff, Ray! She, for she was still nursing young when I took this, looks slightly more startled than the original shot but none the worse for it.
  • Well, here's a couple of tasters but there's plenty more:-
  • Nice work Ray as usual. I can supply other nice Red Squirrel close-ups if you like the subject.
  • My effort:-
  • Utterly amazing, Ray! It's a valuable exercise as one normally has to guess how much your work added.
  • Still looking good Jack! Photography is a splendid pass-time for the later years; nostalgia filled old images to re-work; playtime with digital cameras without the constraints of 'cost per shot'; ...

Enjoyed the change a lot but will get back to Digital soon. Good to air the equipment and refresh memory on how to use and process it. I still have a near mint Pentax MX with several lenses, all ...

    Much appreciated, thanks Bob.

I think hand shake will increase from now on. :-) The single back must have involved fast film changing? I do also have the 6 x 4.5cm back for it, which would suit school portraits well. Is that ...

Actually, images 3 and 5 are from Kinvara, only a few miles from home. Thanks for your kind comments. My results would not have been nearly as successful in the days before digital PP. I was ...

In my 80th year, I decided to take my old 6lb Mamiya out for the day in Connemara without a tripod. Using 120 size rolls of Ilford FP4, developing in Ro9 (Rodinal), Epson scanning the negs and PP ...
  • The Stones look as if they all died and have been disinterred for Judgement Day. They could easily play ghouls in the 'Thriller' video now. This may be what heaven is like all the time - beware of ...
  • Do you use tiff compression (LZW or ZIP)? It is lossless, unlike jpg compression. Generally, it is not usual for a combined panorama to need the same resolution for each component as for a single ...
  • Replied in Decision Time
It isn't my subject line at all - it's that of the whole thread! Anyone who just puts a totally vague search request of 'Decision Time', without a qualifier, into any DPReview Forum has extremely ...

Hello Ray, and good wishes. Knowing you have full frame still cameras, I would like to remind you of the shameful way of still denoting digital sensor sizes, irrelevant since the demise of vidicon ...
  • You might add some haze to the background:-
  • The two printers's signals might be interfering with each other. Try moving just one of the 'too close' printers well away from the other and see if now BOTH those printers now have a good signal. ...
  • Sorry about that! Here it is. It was scanned as a 16 bit greyscale tiff but had to reduce depth for posting as jpg.
  • I have used both but only owned the MPP Press which still has a place in my heart. So much better built with the aluminium back housing compared to the Speed Graphic of the same 5 x 4 size. The ...
