I'm afraid I won't be much help there, as I always update my OSs the day Apple releases them, and I never move folders of photos from my phone to my Mac (or back). But the Photos app syncs all of ...

Unless there's some good reason why you haven't updated your MacOS from Mojave, you may want to start there. Using iTunes for Photo sync hasn't been necessary for several years now.

I’m not sure what you mean by “thru the software,” Pstmstr. The lens stack is actually moved to help stabilize the resulting images. It’s not just software.
-
The sensor doesn’t, but the lenses have been stabilized in iPhones since the iPhone X (at least on the wide lens).
-
The iPhone has had lens stabilization for years too. It’s not just software stabilization. But the 12Pro Max is the first iPhone with sensor stabilization (only on the wide camera).

Here is a dropbox link to a couple of ProRAW dngs that I shot recently. One of them I underexposed by 2 stops to see how much lifting I could get from the shadows: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4jr2b1 ...

Ah, I get lulled into trying to be helpful, but I keep forgetting that I’m on DPReview. Welcome to my ignore list.

That will certainly continue to be true for the ultra high-speed “millimeter wave” 5G network, which can only carry over short distances, and will not penetrate anything as thick as the wall of a ...
-
That’s not correct. The ultra-wide sensors are identical on the 12 Pro and the 12 Pro Max. It’s the wide sensor on the 12 Pro Max that is 47% larger and is stabilized. The sensors on the telephoto ...

Dunno about the Pleiades. I didn't check my Star Walk app. It was too damn cold out there. :-P If you have your phone on a tripod (hand held won't work), you can get up to a 30 sec. exposure using ...

Here’s a 29 sec. exposure, taken on a tripod in my backyard last night with an iPhone 12 Pro in Night Mode, and edited in Lightroom on a 12.9 inch iPad Pro. I would have never been able to come ...

This is from a 12 Pro, not a Max. But yes, using the 1X Portrait mode, my 5’ 2” (157 cm) tall wife fits fine, along with our two dogs. I tried the 2X mode, but it kept asking me to move closer.

I don’t. But I suspect that if Apple did employ such a technique, they would have at least mentioned it in their promo materials, given that all other digital zoom implementations on other phone ...
-
I confess that I can't imagine me going through the trouble of shooting in ProRAW, only to degrade the images by using digital zoom. But I guess you have your reasons. So why not just download ...

Well, if a phone camera can give me 12 bits of data to play with, plus all of the computational effects, I guess I don’t care all that much about what Apple chooses to call it. Hell, they slap ...

First, the standard HEIC file of a difficult scene to capture, underexposed by two stops to try to keep the highlights, and exported as a jpg. Then the ProRAW version, with some light edits (to ...

The only lenses I've tried are the Moment lenses. And while I enjoyed using their wide-angle lens (on an older, pre-ultra wide camera iPhone), their tele lens left me disappointed. I got better ...

Where did you get the idea that Apple ProRAW isn’t available on the iPhone’s default camera app? It is.
