I've been shooting some concerts with Pana 100-400. It's doable as-long as there's some light, but I recently put order on 40-150 f2.8, because I noticed that most of the shots I do can be done ...

Something I found interesting is the point that Tony Northup brought in one of his recent video, is that while cameras are getting more new features, tech and different AF detection modes, the ...

I'm curious. If they get announced on december or february, how long would it take for it to be on the market? Does it take 3-6 months, or full year for product to appear on the market after ...

If some kind of 50-200 f4 or 50-250 f4 materializes, wouldn't that cannibalize some sales from 40-150 f2.8 ? I can see that 40-150 f2.8 might be such great lens for shooting people, it has some ...

I think it depends what kind of macrophotography you see yourself doing the most. For insects on flowers or plants, I would imagine more reach is better, so 90mm would be amazing for that.
-
I think there's also option of waiting for the rumored OM lens, maybe a 80-250 or something? Though when that's going to be released is anyone's guess, it could be just a rumor.

I'm thinking of getting a new camera body, Panasonic G9II, and also getting some sort of kit lens for it, a lens I can leave on the body when walking around or going to places, sort of a ...

I like shooting flowers and insects, so a 90mm is at very top of my macro lens list. Eventually I'd probably end up trying to add a reverse lens on it, to get higher magnification.

Buy G9II, and sell it when OM1m2 is released?
-
Don't know about dynamic range, but low light noise performance is getting better. I think the OM-1 can trade blows with Canon 5D2 in high iso low light, and we're couple of sensors away from MFT ...
-
I think it depends what you shoot. Low light in-door, mft can sometimes have problems, but it's not impossible, as long as there's some light. The benefit of mft is that lenses are smaller, so if ...
-
So assuming that G9II has more detail because of its extra pixels, extra crop factor that those pixels provide, and this sensor has High ISO performance similar to those of high end 20mp bodies, ...

So apparently Sony has released a new sensor for their camera, that has global shutter. Depending how things are, this could be a big thing, or it could be "nothingburger". I've noticed that ...
-
You say that, but I've yet to see 6.5mm (13mm ff equivalent) lens on mft, or wider. Also I want to protect my lens with filter, and only the 8mm offer filters. You could say that 16mm is "wide ...

That will likely only manifest couple of years from now, 2028-2030 at worst.

I haven't read anything from the article yet, but that title alone.. o m f g ! It's almost like "CCD is back, *itc**s !"

How are the engonomics of this compared to GX8, when holding longer lenses? On my GX8 I'm used to holding PL100-400 with my left hand, while I can do everything in the camera body with only my...

Any linux users here? Has anyone had good results with running some lightroom alternative on Linux? What options are there, which one provides best results?

The good thing about old PC laptops is, that once the Windows stops working, you just clean entire drive and install Linux on it, and now you have laptop that still can do fun stuff.

This macro is great news. I've been looking for a macro lens that gives some extra distance on insects. 60mm was not cutting it, but the 90mm, especially if combined with some TC, might do the trick.
