BPB: Bug**r, just this afternoon bought 4 Lexar Pro cards for my new Nikon D810 and D500. One 64GB XQD 2.0 2933x, one 64GB SDXC II 1000x, one 128GB Compact Flash 1066x and one 128GB SDXC II 1000x.

I did try to buy SanDisk but they don't even make any XQD cards. SanDisk customer support is also pretty bad based on my very recent personal experiences with them.

I suspect that the price of Lexar XQD cards will now be at a premium and sellers will be pushing the prices up while stocks last.

Over here in the UK the prices are already at a premium over other countries, just today had to pay £358.00 UK sterling for the above cards and that was after some very hard haggling with the retailer.

Perhaps I should go and buy another four while I can. Just out of interest I could not track down the Lexar 128GB XQD card from a trustworthy on-line retailer and my local store could not get them either.

I shall watch this with some interest.

I asked SanDisk about the suppliers lists shown on their website, as it appears that it has not been updated in quite a long time, and some of the listed suppliers have been out of business for a while. I spent quite a long time phoning, emailing and checking websites only to find out that some of them no longer exist.

I prefer to support my local store(s), they might be a bit more expensive, but I don't mind that for the better buying experience. SanDisk could only source one of the four cards I needed in a national store with a local branch after they checked. In an email they suggested that I buy from Amazon or look at their suppliers list on their website. They did not seem willing in any way in trying to help me buy their product. It also appears from their comments they are not interested in what products their recommended suppliers actually stock.

Hence I bought Lexar over the counter at my local store.
