I kept my Coolpix 995, just for laughs. Still works.

I use an iPhone, but agree it can’t all be about the computational stuff. For sure I would miss a long telephoto as an option. Granted, I rarely used one on my Fuji. It was always a “just in case” ...

I got my 55-230 as a “just in case” lens for travel. Yes, it feels slightly cheap compared to the 50-200 (which I owned in the past). I would rather have less weight in the bag. I’ve always been ...

Indeed. Having owned the original Moment 'O' series lenses, and a Pictar grip (not used at the same time), I'm less inclined to add more complexity. Anything that increases the fuss factor is less ...

I'm sure there are thousands of us pondering the same thing. I used to be the guy who lugged a 5D and L glass everywhere. The kit has been getting smaller and smaller over the years. Now it's a ...

Picked up an SE on the weekend (Burlington, Ontario). Came with charging cable, earbuds and 13.6.1 installed. Probably older stock.

Thanks. I’m trying to get as much life out of my 6 as I can. Was planning to get a 12 Pro, but at almost $2k CDN, it’s a luxury, right now. Maybe an SE.

I used to scoff at phone cameras until I tried my sister’s iPhone 11. Not anymore. The 12 is on my list.

Had one a few years ago. Both the phone and the case got very hot. It also drained the phone battery in no time flat. The build quality seemed cheap. Returned it.

I have an older Moment system for my iPhone 6, with the 18 and 60mm lenses. I wasn’t particularly impressed with the results. Photos were noticably less sharp. The case also got very hot and ...

Well, I’d say it’s more of a stepping outside your comfort zone thing. For awhile, it felt odd to not have the camera along. My messenger bag is now a super small sling, and sometimes I don’t even ...

It’s been gradual. At one time (many years ago) I happily carried around a 5D and a bag of L glass. Since then, I’ve rotated through a bunch of systems ... Oly, Nikon, Fuji, back to Oly, then back ...

My phone has mostly replaced my X-E3. I know I will miss some telephoto shots, but gain the freedom of not carting around all the gear and accessories.

So how did the OP’s friend upgrade to iOS 13?
-
Did he jailbreak his phone? Only the 6S and later models can run iOS 13. Mine is stopped at 12.4.6.
-
Is this because the soft release may put the shutter off-axis? I quite often wrap my finger around the edge of the soft release to shoot.
-
Most likely, nothing will replace it. A year ago, this news (if true) would have really disappointed me. Now, just a shrug. I’m shooting mostly with my phone now, anyway. I like Fuji. I really do. ...
