Wow... surprisingly unsharp. Wonder if it is the lens or the processing. And the amount of noise in the ISO200 shots is also concerning. Couple of years back I clicked the Space Needle on a Sony A7 with the Zeiss 24 70 f4 ... and there is a crispness and contrast there, which is missing here. (ok FF vs MFT - but i don't think crispness should be dependent on that)
Sometimes I wonder if the name "Leica" is used more for branding,,,

I am a marketer by profession - and this is a superb tactic by Apple. As effective as those "Shot by iPhone" billboards. No pun intended but "optics" matter when you want to sell a lot of phones. DPR like any other media house needs to pay salaries... so this is fair game. Putting my photographer hat on - dang...mobile phone cameras have come a long way!

On article Pentax K-1 Review (2663 comments in total)

I have been using the Pentax K-1 for 3 weeks now with an ancient Tokina 28 70 2.8. My primary subject has been my 19 month old toddler who has not inherited my slow genes. With AF-C, Center-Zone AF (not single point) and Focus Priority - my keeper rate is around 60%. I can imagine this will only increase with the Pentax 24 70 2.8 (which should arrive any day). Because I, like many on this forum, do not make my money shooting sports; this accuracy is something I can live with. But the other stuff: the awesome Viewfinder, the pixel-shift genius, the Pentax usability, the quick settings dial, the lit buttons, the special prime lenses (just try the FA 24 F/2.0 - incredible), the quiet and quick shutter, the Pentax colors (especially skin tones) and the amazing detail the sensor can resolve - is what make this the best camera I have used. Hope folks thoroughly assess their real AF needs before making a buying decision. DPR - you have a tough job. ;)

Most entertaining thread ever. :) Nowadays I tend to skip the DPR article, and head straight to the comments.

Great camera. I own a Sigma SD1 system - and with a good lens and good light - to my amateur eye - the results are stunning. Hope to see a good Sigma Vs. MF comparo soon...

nicolaiecostel: Tons of color noise at ISO100. This 5D is shocking.

Agree...my Fuji X30 gives cleaner output at base ISO. Of course we are comparing 12 and 50 MP...but noise is noise.

Having said that the close up of that Asian dude is pretty sharp and clean.

Full touchscreen controls isn't exactly unique is it? Doesn't the Samsung NX2000 have only three buttons?
