Wow, in Helsinki, by 4pm, it’s already dark.

Thanks! I think 24-105 and 20 would work. 24105 means minimum lens swapping ... too cold for that! Maybe I will just take both 20 and 35. as you said, it might get dark quite early.

Hello What are the priorities for lenses for a trip to Helsinki and Rovaniemi? (1) 24-105mm f4 (2) 20mm f1.8 (3) 35mm f1.4 GM (4) 70-200 f2.8 GM II I ...

Hi How did you do a 20 sec exposure but still have birds clear in the sky? stacking? what's the best setting for shooting Northern lights? Thanks

always get native lenses. period. if Sony doesn't have what you needed at the moment, get something else but know that it will be replaced sooner or later.

This is encouraging. I have both as well, but always ended up using A7rIII more. For some reason, I find the files from A7rIII are more biting while looking at them in Lightroom. Actually ...

I've been holding off to upgrade my a7RIII for years. It's still a great camera. But since I got an A7IV, the layout on the two camera always got me confused ... so much so that I actually don't ...

Yeah. I wish I have all my lenses with me. But to be honest, just the 24-105, 20 and one body are quite heavy already. I also had to carry water, clothes, things we bought … not fun.

Haha i have been using 24-105 in the past few days. Haven’t mounted the 20mm once. No time to swap lenses at all. iPhone works fine for snapshots. I don’t know if I will be able to make large ...

Folks, thanks so much! I think I will go with 24-105mm. Maybe take the 20mm just for some wide shots. Two cameras would be too much. I will just use my iPhone if lens swapping is not possible. Wish ...

First time to Italy ... what lenses to bring? Mostly with family in Venice and Rome... What I have at the moment (1) 24-105 f4 (2) 20mm f1.8 (3) 35mm f1.4 (4) 70-200 f2.8

Hello How realistic is it to use the new 70-200 F2.8 GM MK II as a macro lens? I tried manual focus on this one, but the detail is still lackluster, I think.

285 is a better choice. Not much heavier. Don’t extend the last section. You get the same height and stability as 284. Extending the last section, you get more height, but thinner legs.
-
size/weight of the lenses is more important. the difference in body is not that important.

Thanks. I think everyone has different needs and preferences. I am trying to make do with 24-105 with a 100-400 (or 70-200) and/or a wide-angle prime (20mm Sony for now).

Do people plan to carry this in a regular basis? If not, you’d need something else in the normal - short Tele range. So, maybe a dedicated Tele makes more sense?
