AngryCorgi: Ummm...so what is the justification for purchasing the new OM systems camera over this one at the same price point? What does the OM camera do that sets it apart?

more than 200 grams lighter and a lot smaller

Joe Bagadonuts: So if you don’t shoot long lenses and need fast frame rates, what’s the benefit of this camera over larger sensor options where the size and weight difference of camera plus lens is less significant?

Shoot a portrait with Olympus 45 f/1.2 and tell me which other brand combo does that with the same price/performance/weight ratio.

toomix: hmmm, its a shame that at least 40-150/f4 lens does not feature Dual IS :(

Fotoni: My guess is that in perfect conditions these can deliver around 4-5 MP worth of real details, typical cases can be 2-3 MP and low light is below 2 MP. The rest is just artificial washed out mud which tries to look convincing.

Have you checked Mi 11 Ultra photos? It is another 1/1.2” sensor with 108 MP. The details are fantastic, not washed out or mushy. Practically RX100 level quality.
Check the DxO Mark review.

Davud: 2011 called. They want the E-M5 idea back.

Range-finder style, fixed lens premium priced FUJI X100 is not comparable to SLR style, Interchangeable lens mainstream E-M5.

That sensor size and resolution will need a big a$$ lens. Expect a phone with a back bulge.

like that tiny lens could resolve more than 5 megapixels ...

Michael Engelen: I shoot FHD only, because for me 4K is simply not needed. My big screens are standing 3m away from the viewer — so 4k resolution is no advantage. And: every modern camera shoots great FHD with 60 or for slomo even 120fps or more. For me the criteria are obviously different...

I use FHD only too and in-camera oversampling in 1080p makes a huge difference. GH5/GH5S beats all existing cameras including A7S II in pure resolving power and unnoticeable rolling shutter. On top of that it shoots 10-bit 4:2:2 which Sony can't.
At least they could have added that 2+ year old tech to this new camera (They did not in GX9 which was range-finder style and not fair to compare to G95). Lets wait and see the Dpreview's video comparison.

johnny_mnemonic: So basically we are back to near DSLR size for cameras like this... except with the mirrorless option you get 310 shots per charge. When mirrorless tries to do what DSLRs do, it gets heavy and expensive. The glass is still heavy and always will be. I don't mind the concept of mirrorless but the execution just doesn't make sense to me. Way less battery life, same cost, same lens sizes for most zooms... i mean what is the point of this.

Would someone really choose this over a Nikon D500 for stills?

larkhon: it's probably already said but how come the G9 is tested for the studio scene with Pana Leica 42.5 f1.2 and E-M1 II with 45mm 1.8 ?

Also, Pixel shift of E-M5 II is with Nocticron and E-M1 II with 45/1.8.
Not only that, shooting MFT cameras at f/5.6 is not optimal. Diffraction for most lens/body combos kicks in from f/2.8 to f/4.
I suggest dpreview reshoots all recent (up to 3 years) MFT cameras with Olympus 45/1.2 PRO, at sharpest aperture (probably f/3.5 to f/4).

Well done adobe.
Instead of improving your algorithms to run better on faster PCs (decent hyper-threading, GPU processing, etc) you come up with this. Sad.
