  • were they taken in low light? I think not!!! And besides it's not impossible either.

  • I've been there and done that (using 2 systems) before and after digital until not so very long ago. I'm not saying you can't have multiple systems but I've never let clients dictate what to use. ...
  • @ Richard Butler, the equivalence debate is very stale.
The point IS as you suggest that people choosing m43 or aps-c or even smaller as professional tools are perfectly capable of keeping both...

  • or m43 would even be better. But then again it would be too big and too slow for both.
    That's why the 300mm F4 and 40-150mm F2.8(+ telecon) exist.

  • A formidable example of why m43 is/would be perfectly capable for this kind of photography.

  • Replied in Equiv alert
Aah here we go again, but no F2.8 = F2.8, period!!! DOF is not interresting and out of the equation, why .... because I say so ;-) Why does every id..t assumes DOF is the most important property of ...
  • I guess now 35mm zealots begin to see the idiocy of equivolence.
As a photographer I should use my eyes to see the desired result through the viewfinder.
That's why pro machines have DOF preview if...

He's simply right, as of the coming of the E-M1mk2 there's no system better for any kind of sports than m43. But then you would only get it if you've been there and done 35mm at the sidelines, and ...
  • Very true, but there was also demand that it be shot on Nikon or Canon, not Minolta, Chinon or Pentax. Never bothered me though. And if I was charles and this happend just 2 times in 5 years, I ...
  • @Internet Enzyme, Like E-M1mk2 has >800 AF but 121 selectable points and 60fps, maybe that's why.

  • The problem with you lot is that you don't get that thin DOF is really a trade of.
You generally don't want too shallow DOF since it'll ruin the subject.
Only in specific situations you would want...

  • Sorry, but this must again be a hobbyist view. Olympus is and will not be in a bind if they persevere and improve at the rate they are doing. I'm making a living from m43 full time and can tell you ...
  • @gianstam, correct and Olympus has been a great help. Though I think I am a little more drastic I'm m43 full in.
No more dragging those heavy 400's and up, now only have a single backpack, no...

  • Why would you have waited for the Sony A9 as a 35mm alternative over the E-M1mk... That just doesn't make sense to me. If needed a tool to do high speed subjects, I'd have bought the Olympus ...

Come to Europe ;-) I guess it's not eay to see them (me) since those stupid big lenses block view ;-)
  • Ah you mean the likes of me ;-), that used to use the one digit Canon/Nikon series for sports. Yeah that's right, used to. In the meantime the E-M1mk2 is ever so capable to deliver the goods as a ...
  • What is it with people and figures that they assume bigger is always better. The 14bit is highly marketing speak since there's no way for you to use it's benefits. Afterall you use it for hobby or? ...
  • Replied in Go for it!
Well that's what I figured. Whatever rocks your boat you should get. Don't expect a dramatic positive result in output because that's simply not there. I've been working with m43 for quite a while ...
  • I'd say go ahead, and find you need to add the battery grip to get the same performance level as the E-M1mk2 (speed and bitrate etc.) Also the X-T2 is not as userfriendly from shooting ...
  • @halfwaythere, no clue what to you is a fanboy. If you look at my posts it's not a big secret what I owned (Fuji, Canon, Pentax) and own right now (Panasonic & Olympus plus ...), and also that I...
