That said, I would invite people to read this article here:

https://luminous-landscape.com/a-new-perspective-on-landscape-photography/

It makes some very valid points about "too much use" of wide angles in landscape photography. Quite often we include uninteresting and boring foregrounds in our photos, and then the interesting stuff shows up as small and distant.

The photos in that article are amazing. That is bona fide landscape photography.

inlawbiker: All they've done is create the single best camera-in-a-phone combination ever made. The trend has to begin somewhere, I'm glad it's finally moving forward.

Anepo, will you put a sock in it?

The irony of you calling somebody a 'fanboy' is hilarious when all you keep spouting about is how Nokia's (unannounced) zoom phone will trounce this.

Gully Foyle: Exactly what was missing from the market and fully delivered by Canon, as expected...

Seriously, what is Canon doing? What is wrong with them? Any lenses? Bodies? What about the EOS M? Anything that might actually EXCITE?? Or even raise an eyebrow for that matter?? After the huge letdown called 5DMK3, Canon continues to... impress.

The 5D3 was a huge letdown? Funny, it's exactly the camera I'd been waiting for from Canon.

Retzius: For film and television production the prices of these lenses are a non-issue. My wife does motion graphic design for film and television and these production companies spend money like it falls from the sky...

My god you're annoying Francis.

Why do you feel the need to be condescending to people? You come off as an arrogant tw*t.

Francis Carver: Who cares what Canon does with its $3,500 list Price EOS 5D Mark III? Especially since these "improvements" won't even happen until sometime next year.

If you need uncompressed video from your DSLR in 4:2:2 chroma and 8-bit color quality, just get a Nikon D600 for $2,100. The Nikon already has what the Canon promises via a firmware upgrade.

After Nikon, Sony, Panasonic all came out with cameras outputting uncompressed video via HDMI, at dead last Canon is also thinking about it? Hah! Too little too late, Canon.

I don't know. He just trolls comments to stir things up. I imagine he is a lonely man in RL.

I'm surprised DPR don't take a bit more effort to moderate such blatant trolling.

Oh look, it's Francis Carver- anti canon extraordinaire- dead on cue.

Did Canon take your children away from you or something? Christ, get a life.

I look forward to these additions as a 5D3 owner, particularly the AF upgrades.
