  • That is good advise which I have never done before even though I have taken dozens, perhaps a bit over 100, shots at 30s exposure time. I haven't seen any wobbles, but that doesn't mean there are none.
  • If you stabilize the camera (tripod, bean bag, sit on railing, etc.) and use 3/10sec timer it does wonderful for night shots.  Then you can use lower iso and long(er) shutter speed.
  • Keep cycling thru the 'disp' button which is default the top of back dial.
  • Last summer I jumped into a deep pool along a river in a wilderness on a 105F day.  Swam for a couple minutes then remembered my RX100mkII was in my pocket.  (Reminder:  Always skinny deep when in ...
  • The Va is fine.  Matched all my settings from the II where applicable. I only use RAW except of course of panoramas, of which I shoot many. I am finding the jpeg panorama to be dull & flat compared ...
  • It doesn't really matter the camera model. Use as wide angle as possible. Set the aperture as wide as possible (lowest f-stop) Set the shutter duration as long as camera allows (usually 30s for a ...

  • It is slower, but apparently the image stabilization has also improved which some reports say make up for the slower lens. In my case I like taking night shots at iso160 (or higher if needed) f1.8 ...
  • Thanks Elliot. I remember you from years back. I too use AMZ-Prime. I wondered about those bundled deals if they had any downside. The one you linked to above is sold by Beach Camera, I had a ...
  • Yep, it seems like all the sellers have 'em for $898 ($900) right now, some camera only, some with low quality accessories included too. I've bought cameras/lenses from B&H, Adorama and Amazon (not ...
  • Created discussion thread RX100 mkII to mkVa
I bought a mkII when new and have been using it heavily ever since. I mostly use the wide end of the lens. I rarely use my Canon 30D anymore. A few months ago I went swimming with the RX100mkII - ...
